Why do you like Cullen?

Besides, he didn't turn psychopath or dictator commander on my main playthrough. He just went to rehab. In Kirkwall, apparently.

That and he was pretty good looking.

Get the same line too every time, but i see it as normal. Imagine a mage being able to approach Meredith and keep his/her head in place after the meeting...its something worthy of comment.Addai67 wrote...
That's the line.Elessie wrote...

What pissed me off about talking to Cullen was every time you approached him, he said "you're the only mage in Kirkwall who would dare approach me so openly," in an arrogant tone. But he doesn't have the balls to really take you on- just likes to remind you of your place.
When does he say that? Even with my super pro-mage Hawke all he says is "But surely you're the only mage in Kirkwall who can approach the knight-commander directly if you wished."
But each to his own i guess.
Some ppl like him, some dont. Same with every character.
I for example am not thrilled with Anders or Fenris but i respect the ppl who really like them. For them to like Anders or Fen means they found something that touched them, regarding these characters.
And one of the good aspects of any game is how close you feel about some characters....and vise versa.

If you side with the templars though you see how he really doesnt agree with the Annulment. I think he went along with it because he wanted to believe that Meredith was trying to do her best.Wulfram wrote...
I like him up until he goes along with the Annulment. His strange reluctance to fight the Champion condemns him further - he could have disobeyed when Meredith orders the death of innocents, instead he disobeys when she orders him to kill someone who can fight back.

"I knew an Amell once. She was a special woman. I never met someone like her again."
This line differs when you played a male mage. Then he refers more to the rescue.
Well, he really had a crush on the female mage warden. Even after years it seems that he did not get over her.

Oh? I have to go get DAO out again. I feel stupid asking this...
Was Amell the family name they gave you as a mage?

If you were a human mage, yes. A distant cousin of Hawke's or something.
If you were an elf, it was Surana.

He's one of the least nutty ones.
Personally, I my Hawkes are always nice to him just because if Meredith disappears, he's probably the next in line to be Knight Commander. And it's always smart to be on good terms with the people in charge. Less... you know. Hanging, Tranquilling, beatings, etc, etc.
Punching him is probably a bad idea.
And I like him, I'm a dude. But I like most of the characters.

Two lines of Cullen's that really annoyed me:
1) (not verbatim, I realise): "You cannot treat mages like people."
Merrill and Bethany: .......
2) On the Qunari: "They are heathens!"

And the Qunari are heathens, according to the Chantry. He's also got reason to think your Hawke probably shouldn't treat mages like people like your Hawke and him.

On a non-hyperbolic note that is fully open to your analysis: I don't like him saying that my sister doesn't deserve to be treated like a person. Maybe that's not "fully vested in reason," but so what? I don't like him. Nanny-nanny-boo-boo.
