Oh look.....it's another one of those. Nobody knew of this, nooooooo way.

And people wonder why I prefer to form my own opinion rather than hopping on a positive/negative review bandwagon. Or why I do not trust Word Of Mouth.

Or why this whole glorification of everything DAO makes me cringe.

Yes, keep calling me "fanboi", "Biodrone", "Sheep", "Shill" and whatever obnoxious names you "true" RPG lovers can come up with while I put my head in the sand and ENJOY MYSELF playing DAII.

And word of advice, true RPG lovers: Avoid the RPG classic Might and Magic VI like the plague.

No decisions.

No play the dolly with comp....actually they are just hirelings. Whom you cannot equip AT ALL.

Reused enviroments

Every NPC looks & wears the SAME.

No romances

How they ever had the audacity to call Might and Magic VI an RPG is beyond me, I tell you.

Then why I adore Might and Magic VI but I don't like this game? It is something to ponder upon. No mine is not sarcasm. :innocent: Maybe, just mabye M&M6 told a great story... It made you feel the story. Made you the main character of that story. So there was not a premade character like Hawke that you were forced to play who was alien to you. But you became the character and felt like a hero. No, definetly not sarcasm. Ah... If only I did not know better ^_^. Now tihis is sarcasm.

And this is why I do not try to criticize the game further here. I just wanted to point out that interesting review from Metacritic. So no comment. Except to encourage people to read other reviews.

Well, I'm sorry, sir. But you did post to the review that's a known BioWare plant....well an employee at least. It was rather big news when it was found out, I'm sorry you didn't know about it. But even Wikipedia talks about this review, it's right next to the guy who had his copy invalid because he bad talked EA.

You're certainly entitled to your opinion as much as anyone else is to their's. But it is kinda funny how you just happen to zero in on the BioWare plant as a way to start up any kind of discussion.

Because that post on the Metacritic smelled like Bioware. I did not know that comment had been discussed earlier and thought to post here. And I do not hide the fact that I don't like the game. I thought this was a good opportunity to introduce Metacritic reviews here. Because it seemed to me that some people here were trying make the others think that negative reviews were a minority. So I wanted to balance the issue. But there are also many good reviews for those who want to be objective by reading opposite opinions or happens to favor the game. Don't talk like I have a secret agenda or do something in secret. It is all too natural for me to link the reviews I like here. The one thing I don't understand that why do you try to criticize me instead of talking about the game or the linked reviews. Whenever I criticize the game people start to comment on my intentions but even if I am a jerk like some people may think the criticism I make or link should be discussed objectively. :police:

Dragon Age 2 is my favorite BioWare game. I realize some people prefer Dragon Age: Origins, but when it comes to storytelling, combat, and visuals, I consider DA 2 superior.

But yes, a BioWare employee posted that and he wasn't too bright about covering his trail.

I like that mag for a different reason (the legendary Kevin Kelly and how he inspired Wachowskies to make Matrix trilogy and the whole intercloud issue -Cloud Computing, corporate IT-) but maybe you think I am a Wired employee coming here to badmouth Bioware? Lol! Mostly because Wired's review is actually and fairly favorable for DA II. I am a lot more harsher when I criticize DA II. What a conspiracy theory. I will tell this story to my friends. We will have a good laugh.

I didn't mean to offend. I was just pointing out that that was a bad review to link to. It's BioWare defending BioWare with a perfect score (which is laughable the game's no where near perfect).

It was likely one guy who worked his ass off on the game, got depressed that so many called it the rushed unfinished game it was, and then thought he could get away with his own hyperbole.

There's really nothing else to discuss about that review.

I just thought it was funny how that was the first one you linked. I had no way of knowing if you knew or not, and frankly I don't care. It's funny either way.

Then I say that I put that review here because I also thought it was funny. Then I thought the other reasons I explained in my previous post. Because there were some negative reviews too and I wanted to link them by taking that opportunity. Anyway more positive reviews in the same link balance the issue further. No offense taken.

Why do you adore one game but love another? Different tastes, maybe?

In my opinion the story of DAII was incredible. No other game's story has gripped me quite as much. Or made me feel so much. And Hawke IS the main character of DAII. And my Lady Hawke certainly was not alien to me. I grieved with her, loved with her, laughed with her....I felt her much more than any of my Wardens. As for being a "hero", I can live without the heroic extravaganza. Esp. in DAII. Because my Lady Hawke was and is dearer to me than any M&M drone...er...."hero". And there IS no main character in M&M VI but a "main party" who do not interact, never connect...the only way to tell them apart are their skills and portraits. (Limited!) Granted, you can dress them up a bit....and then? You don't even get to SEE them wandering around or communicating. :innocent:

The immersion and combat of this game are unmatched! A truly moving and fun epic. Anything negative you'll see about this game is an overreaction of personal preference. For what it is, it is flawlessly executed and endlessly entertaining

Well what a wonderful way to wrap up everything :). All who do not like or criticize the game like me, we are all... suckerssss! [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/grin.png[/smilie]

An employee or PR guy made this review (!) probably... But it sums up the fanboy viewpoint nicely. But if you don't want to bury your head in the sand please read the rest of the user reviews. And the review of the Wired. One of the most respected Tech magazines of U.S.

If you think avanost is bad, how about www.metacritic.com/user/kshastry

Seriously, every EA game gets what score and the COD rating is just for ****s and giggles.

how would you like it if you made a game and everyone dissed it for being so badly represented?
sure da2 was not 100% up to the top ticket but in all it still had potenional

It would have been a good game if they redid act 3, that stupid doctor frankenstein thing with your mother and modt importantly if the choices actually mattered.. It was a good game but if you start making comparisons to origins then it isn't a good game.

Still though, good game just had the potential to be so much better

Anyone who wants to get rid of the single best quest and the most emotional scene I've ever seen in a game deserves a :(. And Origins had NOTHING as good as that quest. Please point out a scene from DAO that was in the least bit emotional?

@OP: fortunately, the world is more complex than "fanboy" vs. "trolls". And that's maybe the reason why you have disliked the game so much... Read my posts, they are full of criticism. More criticism than praise. Still, I think that the game was almost good and I have more fun than DA:O with it.

I think it's kind of worrying if it is Biowares view that this is a 10/10 game.

I'm not a hater. I think the game is ok. Average-good. Not great.

But I had a bunch of achievements didn't unlock. I saw a dead PC show up in a cutscene. Which are bugs. I then had choices made irrelevant which made it hard for me to get into the story. I found most of the non important quests to be tedious and repetitive. I found the lack of maps a huge killer.

And the guys who made this think it is 10/10 and that this is acceptable? I'm sorry but no, your game is worth a 7 at best, and I really hope Bioware don't really think that this is worthy of a max score.

I just finished a third playthrough, and I still can't get the "Kill Orsino" acheivement to unlock and I've supported both sides in my playthroughs.... Truly disappointing.... Had to delete and re-download the Black Prince just to get some of the Seb-plot-centric acheivements. I'm sure i've found all four chapters of the "History of the Chantry" too and still can't get its acheivement to unlock.... I also can't unlock the "Epic" acheivement. And as far as the "Supplier" acheivement, do you need to have all crafting resources, or just one of each? cause I'm sure I have had at least one of each....
