Rob say's right near the end "This is the final version we're using for ME 3"

Oh the variables, damn you variables!.

:D

EDIT; Sorry, meant to quote Welsh Inferno.

Actually, they never play DC Douglas' real voice.  That voice is some other guy.  DC posted on his FB: http://www.facebook....86757436?ref=nf

very cool video, nice hints at some me3 stuff at the end (a certain unresolved major plot).

Loved the video...but anyone worried about the rate that they seem to be churning info out through game informer now...I mean what is going to be left by time we get to E3?

Thanks for giving us a look inside, blake. looks like It went through quite a few variations to get it right.

Not really. The ME3 info from the video was relatively minor.

For the rest of the month Game Informer will be putting out ME3 related content. The next information is set to come on Monday the 18th. They did the same with Saints Row 3 last month, Battlefield 3 the month before that, and Skyrim the month before that month. After all the content, we still have MUCH to know about BF3, Skyrim, and SR3.

Do not expect too much meat from this GI ME3 information. I don't expect REAL information to come til E3 when Bioware decides that they suddenly want to spoil the game months before it releases by showing off nothing but gameplay videos that features Shepard making dire decisions that would be better not spoiled, like the E3 2007 videos regarding Wrex.

For the GI articles, they'll be nothing but vague information that really doesn't reveal anything new. I mean was there anything new that came out of the Legion video? Was there anything new that came from the interview with the Doctors? We'll just get more vague information and the only hardcore content we'll probably get is perhaps concept art.

Do I see the ME3 mission computer screen on the TV behind....Never seen it that colour before

Yeah I definitly caught that and think its the ME3 pause screen, it looks just like ME2's, with a few tweaks and some smoother lines, but its blue like ME1.

I hope not!!! I was extremely angry when Anders was no longer voiced by Greg Ellis. Although that wasn't the only reason I was angry about Anders. Anyways back on topic If Legion Voice artist is different then I will be angry unless he sounds the same

This means that, for a change, the current GI info is actually something that can be read. Much of the info is vague and they don't go into many specifics on the story. Since I intend to stay away from storyline spoilers, I guess I won't be reading/watching any E3 material or gameplay vids. I went into ME2 with knowing very little, and am glad of it.

Go to D.C Douglas's FB, he say's something along the lines of "The one time they show how they did Legion's voice, they use a different actor"

I hope D.C is back.

Why would they change VA?

I'm sure Bioware still has contract with him.

Howdy folks,

Hope you enjoyed the video... always hate seeing myself talking, urgh!

I was playing some of the original ME2 concepts in the vid, they were made before we'd chosen a voice actor, hence why it wasn't DC Douglas. As for ME3, well, I can't say what will be happening, but as with everything, it's pretty exciting! :)

Thanks :)

Rob, you' re the Man. I really liked the part where you said "Walk you through the process of Legion's voice, who may or may not be in ME3......and this is the final processed version of the voice which we are using in.................anyway I shouldn't play to much because it's spoilery"

When I first found Legion I thought he was a synthetic voice and there was no actor involved...

Great vid. Questions for Rob:

-What DAW do you guys use for the audio recording and editing? Pro Tools, Logic or Sound Forge? I'm currently running Pro Tools 8 & 9 at home with a MBox for my laptop and a 003 for my desktop.
-Do you use Soundminer for your library?
-Was there an audio engine designed in house or do you use FMOD, Miles, OpenAL or something else for implementation?
-What software do you and the other sound designers use when creating sfx? I really like using Native Instruments stuff.

Sorry but it's rare I get to have audio geek chat.

Ha ha, we all like a good audio geek chat :)

-We primarily use Pro Tools (you can see my 003 on my desk in the video), Soundforge and Live.

-Our sound effect librarian is Basehead, we're on PC so soundminer isn't really an option.

-ME1 used ISACT, for ME2 we switched to Audiokinetic Wwise and therefore had to literally rebuild the entire audio from scratch, we took that opportunity to revamp all the audio systems and content in the game.

-Yeah, we love the NI stuff too, all our sound designers have Komplete. We also use Alchemy a lot and various other plugs and synths.

You can read more geeky audio stuff in our interview with DesigningSound.org here:

Thanks!

Question: How many Reapers are actually voiced in ME3? Don't need a number just quantity.
