I think I'll replay female Hawke to see if I can stand it while mixing up the dialogue options.

If she's like MHawke you will sound like you have multiple personality disorder.

She just sounds ridiculous.  Her "aggressive" voice sounds so bad that it isn't even funny.  Way too meek and pathetic to manage to sound remotely intimidating.

As much as I dislike the Mass Infection of Dragon Age, I would have preferred Jennifer Hale.  Even if she couldn't pull off an English accent.

I love her voice! *thumbs up for FemHawke*. I don't understand why some people don't like the voice...just doesn't make sense to me.

I love her voice as well. Suits very nice, much better than the manHawks voice does to my characters.

The femShep in ME2 (one too?) is to me waaaay wrong and I can't even play with a femShep =(

As much as I love Jennifer Hale and appreciate her large body of work, I didn't like her that much as Female Shepard. She was way too... I dunno... monotone's not the right word...

I'll just say this, the speech on the Normandy before the Suicide Mission as delivered by Male Shepard had me standing and saluting. The same exact speech delivered by Jennifer Hale made me wonder if she really had her heart in this. So did a lot of things she had Shep say in that game. There wasn't enough emotion.

At least an Aggressive Female Hawke voice, at least to me, still has emotion. No, she doesn't sound like Ripley, and she doesn't need to. Just because she's a tough girl doesn't mean she has to sound like a man. She can still have a soft voice and still sound scary. That scene when Hawke's "interrogating" someone that stole from her business, for example. Choose the Aggressive options - they're awesome, and with that voice.. kinda hot.

I guess I'm not sexually attracted to it in the least, so I have no reason to like it.  Just sounds weak.

That's more or less the opposite of what most people say. Merric is the one who is accused of being monotone in the main. I think he's very consistent though even if you change lines it still sounds like one Shepard.

Hale , I think she's just too well known as a voice and that sometimes leaks across into the game.

I like both voices.
I hate the new system where they start acting schizo if you switch between nice and nasty a lot.

Protagonist behaviour should be fully controlled by the player, this irrational behavior causes a sense of disconnection.

I like choosing the mischievous options, perfect for Male Hawke.
With female Hawke however sometimes it's just so deadpan, I want to HIT her with the pan. It's like going through Avelines love quest for the rest of eternity. Thats right, Dislike it that much folks.

Agreed.  I stopped playing my first FemHawke the instant I found out how bad her "Smartass" voice was.

I think she sounds a little on the dainty side, at least compared to Hale.

That's because of the inflections they put on the various tones. It's less noticable in ME, maybe because of the high quality VA ,or maybe because of the writing. It's hard to be definitive ,but it's one of those.

I understand how you feel im british also and I found her voice annoying and slightly offensive because the americans and canadians seem to think we all speak that way o.O
but i played through until the end with the sound off ^^!

I enjoy her voice, and it kind of reminds me of how Honor Harrington's voice is described: soft slightly musical, not the kind of voice you're expect to be able to produce a commanding snap, but when she does, she doesn't even need to raise that voice or swear to get people's attention.

Call me crazy, but I loved when Fenris was waiting at femHawke's mansion, and she simply says, "Fenris?"

That was hot.

I don't mind the voice. But she has no bazonga's. What's with the Chantry women? They are all 44DD. My ladyhawke is tiny. She's kicks ass, but looks frail compared to hot Bisex Isabella. My ladyhawke has needs. She wants Isabella and Merrill. What the hell- I cant remove her armor and let her fight in her undies???

Her voice is rather generic, I mean Merrill is a doll. She keeps stepping in something. Poor thing. She needs a good deal of rutting, ya know? LOL!

To my crude American ears, basically every foreign female accent sounds incredibly sexy, regardless of the country, or how it may sound to natives.

I remember reading an interview with Rachel Weisz a few years back.  She said she loved America because "if you have an English accent, men will give you anything".  So true.

To the point of the OP, I quite like the female Hawke voice.  It's the male one that grates on me.  It does, however, point out one of the negative consequences of a fully voiced PC.  Everyone's ear is not alike and, if one finds the PC voice irritating, it detracts from the enjoyment of the game.

I agree with this, it may be taste. Thats what made the warden unique, the fact he wasn't voiced gave you the chance to think of your own voice to match him. But I have a major feeling they are a big role in 3. Meaning, Elf, Dwarf and Human will have to find a middle ground voice, lets hope the english voice acting doesnt fail here.

I don't mind her voice in an ultimate sense - it's not annoying enough to grate on my nerves or anything - but it doesn't really fit with any sort of character I'd usually want to play. Too soft.

I prefer the male voice, but it certainly wouldn't work for some characters. That's one of the main problems with having the voices.
