[SPOILERS BELOW]
It was short and the gear you pick up is limited. You get Cailan's armor (4pc), Maric's Sword, Cailan's Shield, Repeater Gloves (useless gloves with rapid aim and armor pen).
There was also a new locked mage chest where the tranquil was guarding when you started the game. I'm not sure there is a key for it however as I have not found it myself.

I could have sworn on the playthrough that I just did I got the mage's chest at the beginning too, so I was wondering why it was there. Also, anyone know information about the joining ritual chalice gift? I gave it to Alistair but it didn't do anything special, so I loaded a different save so that I hadn't given it to him. Duncan's weapons are awesome though.
On another note, how is it corrupting save files? Or am I just making something up? I heard it was just specializations that were confused?

As to that chest, one of my character was able to get it open by picking locks. I've had two give the prisoner food, neither got a key from him.
You have to keep talking to him until he offers it, then give him the food.

I've read that the 360 patch you have to download for RtO (or something like that) causes errors with specialisations. From what I've seen (I read the notice advising players not to d/l the patch after installing it...), it doesn't do anything to specialisations that you've specced in, but seems to remove the option for characters who don't have it specced(i.e: I can't teach Morrigan to be an Arcane Warrior even though I unlocked it ages ago, but my rogue is still an assassin-duelist)

Agh... So, as far as we know, it's just a quick romp to get some gear? that blows... ah well, Duncan was a huge surprise; he seemed like such a fleshed-out character, and then he died on us... supposedly. RtO seems to confirm it, but we can still hope, eh?
