The graphic differences between ME2 and ME3 aren't that huge. In ME3 there is better lightning and texture.

Could you run ME2 with no problem at all then you will have nothing to worry about being able to run ME3 on highest settings.

I suspect the system requirements haven't gone up a lot.. I'm hoping anyway.

I would be surprised if they still allowed for single cores cpu to run ME3 so beautifully as ME2 did. I've yet to see one of those new games that can run better on my ancient CPU

I would laugh if they did.  I have a P4, 3Gig ram, and Nvidia GeForce 8400, and ME2 ran nicely.  I still plan on building a rig, but it may ease my budgetary fears when I finally hear the specs.

By the by, can anyone knowledgable about computers comment on hyperthreaded CPUs?  I heard they're wasted for gaming.

I've managed to run The Witcher 2 smoothly with a Core2Quad, 2GB of memory and a 8600GT so I don't think it will be much of a problem run ME3.

I don't think ME3 will be that much more demanding than ME2.

I would only be worried if you had a hard time running ME2.

I wonder if we can have AA this time? I'm also hoping I don't have to go edit the config files again (which was a bit of a pain to be honest) in order to have a proper mouse sensitivity...

You can always tweak the settings, turn of vertical sync, etc.

I managed to run ME2 smoothly on a GeForce 9400M MacBook. Anything is possible. :-)

Given the PC version will more than likely be an Xbox port, and the Xbox is a piece of crap PC clone, I doubt its requirements will be much more than what ME2 was.

There is a newer thread (several, now, it seems) that hasn't been shut down for redundancy, as I would have expected. This one, at least, is correctly spelled for easy location using Google / Yahoo / whatever ("Bing"?) I think that this older one here is the only one we need.

I'm pretty sure mine should run it on max, but just to make sure:

i7 840M, quadcore, 8 threads. 2.9ghz

NVidia Geforce 235m, 2048mb. DirectX 11 compatible.

4GB ram

Windows 7.

That should be able to run it at max right? I know the specs sound quite good, but it is a laptop.

AFAIK, the 335M is a mobile GTS 250, and therefore, not particularly great at all.  It's not awful, being roughly equivalent to a Mobility Radeon HD 5650, so no "MAX" for you, just medium.

www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-GT-335M.24060.0.html

Incidentally, Notebook check says there never was any "235M".

P. S.  The cyclic frequency (speed of new comments shoving things off the top page) here seems inordinately high for summertime, when most would-be gamers want to be outside if they can... Is the weather just horrible everywhere today?

1.BTW i dislike consoles. IMHO: consoles are for kids or poor peope

And when PC players are mentioned that updating your PC is troublesome and expensive, etc... They claim that it's cheaper than console gaming. It's always one or another.

And you know, it's best to own all the devices. B)

Choosing PC only is for the poor people too.

Just because that member decided to add bait to his comment, and play the part of a TROLL, does not mean that you should fall into that trap and feed the Troll that way.

It appears to be roughly the same general performance, still being compared to AMD's Radeon HD 5650.

Sorry, still "Medium".

Just give vodka to a troll and he will be happy one day and he can´t do any trolling next day.

That's a shame, seeing as my laptop can run Mass Effect 2 maxed out with perfect framerate. However my laptop is only compatible with upto 720p-I assume it can run maxed out 720p?

Honestly, I still think in terms of PC displays. Most likely at 1280 by 1024, the older "squarer" screen, a GT 435m could get a nice mix of medium and high settings, so if 720 p requires fewer than 1,310,720 pixels, you would be in good shape.

I use the same display for both a gaming machine and a business machine, and the older style display's shape is much superior for business use (I have a switching device with the acronym "KVM" switch for Keyboard, video, and mouse, but it's not as good with the mice as it is with the display and keyboard, and mine is so old it doesn't include audio switching).

Hmm. I'm a bit worried by what you're saying, as in theory my laptop should be able to run practically anything maxed out-it's the best of last year's Dell XPS 15's, and it's served me very well. It can run any current gen game maxed out, but I suppose the game won't be out for a while-we'll see then.

You can reand in "Confirmed features thread", there won't be DX11. So any card from GTX260 and better will run ME3 beautifully ( and from 5770 and better)

Bioware said that they are aiming for same PC requirements from ME2, but never is it minimal or maximal.

As far as we know, there can still be DX11 support but be playable on weaker PCs like with ME2.

I do not believe that a 435 could have been "best" when it's that limited in performance. Various Geforce GTX n60m cards have been used in laptops much longer than any of the GT n35ms have been around, and higher GTXs than just 60s.

Newness is meaningless. When you want to play games at max now, you need a GTX, not a mere GT, with a GTS in between them.

If you could run ME2 without problem you should be able to run ME3 with no problem. ME3 has better lightning and textures but that will not be too far away from the ME2 PC requirements.
