There have been plenty of discussions about what it should look like. Whether it be blue like the first game or keep it the same red orange from the second, or maybe something new.

Anyway, i just watched the GI video about creating Legion, and in the background the sound editor has a monitor with "the" game paused. Now, it looks very similar to ME1, but a little bit darker.

And why would he have ME1 playing while he's working for ME3, just saying, it could be nothing, but i think we now know what the new pause menu looks like.

EDIT: Never mind that, seen in. It does look a lot like ME1, but slightly cleaner.

It's probably just ME1's pause menu. The darkness could just be the brightness on the screen or whatever. But that is very interesting because they could be going back to the old ME1 pause menu layout with the (IIRC) map, save and load on the right side instead of the left in ME2.

ME2's menu is orange, not red.

That said, I wouldn't be surprised at a dark-red menu theme for ME3. The main reason for this being, that red seems to be a representative color used for Reapers, and ME3 could use this as as overall theme for the game (Similar to how Cerberus had their own color which was used for a menu theme in ME2)

No telling how finished that is or how old that build is for that pause menu. Pretty sure I see Journal on the left and top.

I see Heavy Weapon Ammo , 4 unknown resources , Medi Gel , Save on the left , Load on the right , and B Resume (Xbox 360) , Journal at the top , Options on the right in the middle, Main Menu on top right , squad at the bottom , and Map at the top left. ( go full screen and you will see this)

Yeah, I'm reading Journal twice as well, looks like an unfinished build.

It's essentially the same as the ME 2 pause menu, only it's a different colour and style. Other than that, all the options are the same. Only thing is that Journal should be Codex. That's it. Just look at the ME 2 one for comparison: http://www.mobygames...eShotId,505060/

Definitely not ME1 there, but I wouldn't read much into anything on that screen. UI tweaks continue throughout development, so that might screen might certainly change.

It might not be the final ME3 menu, but it's certainly not the ME1 or ME2 menu. Too few options for the ME1 menu, not to mention the resources section at the bottom. The elements are the same as the ME2 menu, but as others pointed out there appear to be 2 Journal options (early build issue, i imagine) and the button shapes are different.

^this. And to those who think its not the ME3 menu, why not?? Why would the ME1 menu or a blue looking version of ME2's be in the background? How does that make any sense?

I do want to say, it's pretty hilarious, that we're so excited for Mass Effect 3 that we're debating as to whether or not that's the "legit pause screen"

 Lol and true, but all I know is as soon as I saw the video and noticed the pause screen I got beyond excited. Yeah, thats wow good Bioware has me.

I saw this too. It probably is the pause screen for ME3, whether or not it is final. Everything looks similar to ME1/ME2 design, except those words in the top right corner. Any idea what that is?

Or conversely, a lovely shade of emerald green to accentuate life and its feverish fight for survival. Or maybe red for the first half and green later on.

personally I loved the orange/red theme, but I'm still going to love it no matter the color!
y'all need to believe in BioWare a little more guys!
