You shouldn't be embarrassed.  The branching storyline makes it one of the best Sonic games in my opinion.

Anyone who insults that game will get a kick, punch, even if it's all in the mind. It was one of the early starts of fully fleshed-out music games, besides Vib Ribbon.

I agree with sea - the OCRemix versions of megaman 2 are a better fit than the one above. I guess it's just not my cup of tea.
