Basically I don't know what I've done but the game has completely glitched after the first wave of the undead and the cut scence to trigger the wave in the village proper will not load I've loaded my game and the auto save and stood around and ran about redcliffe for over a half hour with no luck. I've all but given up on my poor Dalish elf  

Any heads up or tricks to get this to load so I can continue?

Last time I did it, it felt like it took forever to switch to the cut scene.

I'd reload from a prior save and try again. Stay near the fire in front of the chantry. If it doesn't, make a round around the entire town. There might be an undead stuck somewhere.

Beyond that I wish I knew.

Why doesnt bioware fix this its been a known problem for well over a year. Guess nobody has any better advice on how to pass this but its pathetic. people who bought the ultimate edition...or like myself who bought both origins and awakening...I just got stuck at this part too i really highly doubt if I have to start over that i will play through again id rather sell a game that would just do this to me again.

ok so did that somehow work for you standing by the fire is that where it finally happened for you? from videos i saw online the cutscene happened on the hill i thought where the guy took you to the lake

nevermind sorry I am not even here I am at...attackat nightfall or something like that
