So forgive me if a thread has already been made about this. 

But this the Widow Anti-Material Rifle is probably the best weapon in the game probably. It literally took me 28 seconds to kill the thresher maw while equipped with this gun. 

Because it's a sniper rifle, it does so much damage. 

But in order for you inflict said damage, you must use the heightened adrenaline rush (which only the solder class has)

This allows you get a focused and steady shot on your target, along with a damage bonus. 

I tore through everybody I faced, I was use to using the M-920 Cain on the giant Geth thing, and the Reaper at the end.

It literally is a matter of seconds before you kill the enemy while using that sniper. 

Is anybody else rocking it withe Widow!?

Duh, add the Matlock and you have the most overpowered build in the game. Add the Geth Shotgun and you have an all around kill everything so easy that the difficulty settings don't matter.

Yeah, this has been discussed, and you are right, it is way too easy with that setup.

Sorry if I came off a bit of an ****, but any half hearted search would have shown this is well known, and so obvious. I just happen to be in that kind of mood tonight.

no worries. using the matlock makes the game way....waaaaaayyy to easy. Likes its not even worth playing......what am I saying, mass effect will always be worth playing

Also, you forgot Stasis as bonus power, which will let you OSOK Ymir mechs before they even get to shoot back.



@OP: Yes, I think you've stumbled upon what is generally considered one of the strongest builds in the game. Definitely the strongest Soldier build, at least. Another extreme beast is the Assault Sentinel.

Hey, this is Mass Effect, not Dragon Age, I know same company produced but Mass Effect doesn't have magic spells to fail, so that can't happen here.....

Actually, the Widow is an Anti-materiel Rifle

Widow is pretty cool, but I like Revenant (Soldier) and Claymore (Vanguard) even better. Probably because I prefer close quarters combat to long range combat.

Widow Soldier is kind of boring to me...either Revenant or Claymore Soldier for me...

I have played this build to the death. Claymore/Revenant from now on.

Every Soldier player should give the Widow build a try. Same with the Revvy and Claymore builds. It's amazing what a difference choosing a different special weapon makes, if you play specifically to each one's quirks.

Hey, this is Mass Effect, not Dragon Age, I know same company produced but Mass Effect doesn't have magic spells to fail, so that can't happen here.....

I think you will get over the thrill after you discovered how boring it actually is, (Like the rest of us).

I think you will get over the thrill after you discovered how boring it actually is, (Like the rest of us).

I quite enjoyed it actually. But then again, I didn't exclusively snipped, I used GPS for CQC if I felt like it.
