I can't believe that a month after the release, they still won't do anything to retroactively fix a game broken by the Isabela glitch. I can't believe Bioware released a game that is essentially still broken EVEN after a patch. I'm so glad I wasted 52 hours playing a game I can't finish because the main character doesn't work, and Bioware doesn't seem to care. They got their money, so why should they? Starting another character just to get to where I'm at now doesn't even sound like fun. It sounds like work. I even stopped playing for two weeks when I heard about a patch being made. Now i have to wait another month for them to "maybe" fix the problem. Here's how you fix the problem, take longer than a year to make a game. Study Blizzard. It'd do you guys some good.

Bioware, you guys used to be my favorite publisher. This is just unacceptable. I work at a game retailer and used to recommend you guys to all my customers. Now I have to tell them the truth about how awful your games are becoming. I really hope you guys don't screw up the Mass Effect series with #3 like you did to the Dragon Age series with this game. I really hope a Bioware admin responds to this so I can hear what is being done about this plight.

Is any one else this pissed or am I just overacting?

I'm in the same situation as you. I'm in year 4, 53 hours in and I really really don't want to play through year 1 again because it was mostly uneventful and mediocre. But I kind of have given up on my current play through because of Import errors. It doesn't seem like they will get fixed in existing saves before a patch that fixes them. So I have to wait until a patch that fixes this problem.

Bioware also used to be my favorite publisher, but no more. So far this game has been much worse that DA:O, but I can forgive that as long as enough effort and time was given to the game to try to make it as great as what Origins was. This doesn't seem to be the case. Throwing this game out in a year or year in a half without giving enough time to make it even playable for a lot of people is what really bothers me. I feel like DA2 has wasted the great story and game world that was established by Origins.
[Edit]  Though, I am only in year 4, so it might be to early to give up on the game. Hopefully It will pick up and be much better that what I experienced in year 1 and half of year 4

It's hard to fix bugs retroactively though, especially ones that deal with stats since it just wouldn't work.

All they can do is prevent it from happening in the future and you can fix your save through modding, so....

I don't have enough time to walk people through anything anymore but you will probably find help from the other posters in the topic (look at my sig), they seem to be helpful

@ Jackman - when DA2 launched, I was pissed (erm, angry, not t'other kind.. ). Now? I've accepted that BioWare released a broken game, and there's nothing we - the gamers - can do about it. ****ing doesn't help, nor is whinging about BioWare (or EA, for that matter).

It's not ideal, but I finished a very buggy initial playthrough 'blighted' by Thumbs Up and Seb's perk (I had a -58dmg resistance). Thanks to the Primeval Rune I mitigated the slo-mo in Act 3, and enjoyed the final stint. I've not stopped playing DA2 since it launched, despite the amount of bugs and exploits I've encountered.

As Sean_XI said, retroactive fixes aren't as simple as prevention. Just accept it. If you're such a big admirer of BioWare, you'll complete multiple runs of DA2. So why not start a new character, a new class, whatever, and enjoy it without Bella's slo-mo STD or Seb's friendly curse?

well the bug is fixed isn't it? It's just that IF you already have it while it won't get worse it won't get better either meaning you'd have to load a previous save. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I really wanted to enjoy DA II but I can't now that I've gotten this bug. Because they won't fix it, I have to start an eighty hour playthrough over and that's not really my definition of fun. Thanks a lot, Bioware.

I ordered the SE Edition despite not knowing much about the game yet, just that I enjoyed the first one a lot, but I doubt I will do anything similar for DA III.

Very unhappy. Won't pre-order from Bioware again. DA2 game cost as much as DA:O but was only about 2/3 (or less) game time, about 1/8 the environments (maps) and riddled with game-breaking bugs. And I can't buy the excuse Bioware didn't have as long to make it. Bioware charged the same price, so I expect the same value. I didn't get it.

Lesson learned. Purchase Bioware games 6 mos to 1 year after release (used if possible.) Cause, I like the stories, but not at release day prices, especially with the bugs that take months to fix.

They're still working on it. They obviously felt that it was better to release the patch with a fix that at least prevented the bug from occuring/getting worse than to hold the patch until they could fix it 100%.

I'm waiting on the second patch before playing another run through again. I want the import errors fixed before playing through another time. I'm playing other games in my library for now. Right now currently playing Divinity 2 DKS and FFXIII as well as Lost Odyssey and other games. I suggest cooling down, playing some other games while waiting for the other patches to come out for those of you who don't like bugs.

As for the retroactive fix those as others have said are hard if not impossible to do. Starting a new play through is your best option at this point.

Just my opinion: do not play FFXIII

FFXIII's problem is more what it isn't than what it is. It's quite pretty, the story is solid, the music is good (though the Dissidia 012 remix of the battle theme is so much better). The combat system is awesome though, best thing in the game. The crushingly on rails structure is disappointing because it's not what you expect from the game.

On the plus side slow doesn't persist and stack on you characters until the game becomes unplayable.

I actually cleaned my cache of the patch, as it screwed my game worse. I made 3 playthroughs on the 360 with minor glitches (how is that possible???) and then the patch screwed my 4th try, the clock fix failed...it's just shi*. I will be playing FFXIII and likely Star Ocean and Lost Odyssey, hell, maybe even Oblivion and Blue Dragon again.

Dragon Age: Origins was a unique and nice experience. I don't expect another like it. Sad.

instead I started playing as my party members, especially Merrill. it's actually a lot easier now. a proper Blood Mage build gives her unlimited spells

I used the third party mod fix from that one guy. if i was bioware id be embarrassed that you need to hack and mod their game to make it work correctly. and people are saying its hard to fix it retroactively..... i manually modded it with minimal effort. it shouldnt be too hard for them to do it with an automatic patch that just resets attack speed to normal
