Post your favorite commercials for anything here. Be on TV, radio, Internet or paper form :)

Crazy, funny, pretty, touching, catchy... anything goes. Let's see all the awesome ideas used to advertise products XD

I'll start with my 3 favorites :wizard:

Coke

Peugeot 206

Kawasaki Ninja

Just... Let's avoid the "company X is evil", "company Y is bad" discussions. These boards seem to be so 'on edge' lately :3

For some reason I laugh my ass off everytime this commercial is played. I couldn't remember what phone/carrier it was for so I had to search for the commercial by description, so I guess it's not that successful as far as advertisements go, though.

PS The dude abides!

The Smithsonian Institute has these posters showing how cool history is. And they're funny because they're true!

I rememember this really good campaign by Costa Rica, a coffee brand in Finland, who had come out with a "new, softer blend".

So they made a campaign wich featured varius people, with a steaming coffee mug near by, acting rather unexpectedly leniently or softly. Like a drill sargeant in the army calling the company for diciplanary action, coming out holding a coffee cup, and reciting them particularly touching poetry about love. Seemed like something out of a Monty Python scetch.

Too bad these commercials are in Finnish, so they can't be properly enjoyed by the international audience.

Here's my favorite though:

A very rough translation (hard to translate some things that are very language-dependant, so rather than a literal translation, I'll opt for trying to get the meaning through when appropriate):

Cop1: Before we stopped you, you drove a kilometer on the buss lane, and three times through red lights.
Cop2: In addition, your car has not passed inspection, you weren't wearing a seat-belt and didn't have a driver's licence, nor a vehicle licence .
Cop1: Do you swear, that you'll never again do stupid things?
The guy caught: *rather miserably* Yes.
Cop2: "I, swear, by all that I hold dear"
The guy caught : *confused* "I swear, by all that I hold dear"
Cop1: "Should I eat my words, may the boogeyman take me!"
The guy caught: *even more confused* "Should I.... eat my words, may the ... boogeyman take me."
Cop2: "Ok, have a nice day."
The guy caught: *quickly exits the cop car*, and runs back to his car.
Cop2: *refills the coffee cup from a thermos bottle*

I'm not even sure I can properly describe one that had me falling out of my chair the other day without offending someone.
It showed women walking and as they were walking though the Mall and outside they were passing poorly maintained, potted bushes...as they passed, the little trees magically were re-shaped and looked nice.
At the end of the Ad, you find out they're advertising a combo Women's electric razor/bikini trimmer!
I swear I did not make this up!

The clever use of language early on, and silly portrayal of heated arguing is why I like it.
