Back when I was young, England had a real love of public information films - they'd show them all the time, not just late evenings and the wee small hours - and back in the day, the loved trying to scare the living sh*t out of kids. They'd show kids getting burned to death, electrocuted, hit by cars and yelled at by Alvin Stardust. Naturally, my generation were terrified of going outdoors because of this and never did anything dangerous ever

This one is my absolute favorite, even thirty odd years on after I first saw it. And yes, that is the voice of Donald Pleasence!

I saw this one during a superbowl a few years back....  Cats!
No clue if EDS still exists, but this commercial will live on forever.
