well lol i know i late but i finally got mass effect 2 and i dont have mass effect 1, is that bad to play second one and then first one later?

ehh, i know people who have done that, its not so bad, ur just gonna play mass effect 2 again after u go back and play 1, which isnt a bad thing

If you have access to both, you should probably play them chronologically... but the second one is good for bringing in new players (probably because of its shooter appeal).
Just make sure you go back and play ME1 & 2 in order, otherwise you'll never get the extra dialogue and characters that are only accessible with a char. import. Personally, I like experiencing a story as it's meant to be experienced; going into ME2 after playing ME1 means that you'll have a personalized experience, and trust me, it's worth it.

Like everyone else already pretty much said, it's not too big of a deal if you go ahead and play ME2 without having played the first, but I still recommend playing ME first so you get the WHOLE story and personalized experience.
