It'll break 1mil on both combined, but in a fortnight or so.

Will it break 2mil, even across all platforms? Not a chance in hell.

You have to start wondering if this game was loss-making at this point. Either way, it beggars belief that BioWare are still trying to spin it as a success and Laidlaw refuses to admit that his "streamline everything fun out of the game" approach was a backwards step.

DAO seemed to slow down in week 8-9 but by then had large amount of sales and was still selling at an ok pace, DA2 is slowing down and leveling off a lot quicker but thats soley due to the quality of the game itself as the intial boost and higher start was due to DAO and DA2 being a sequel. I do want Bioware to make enough to not make a loss and I do think it will make them good enough profit (only in sense time taken to make was much less).

However I don't see anyway they will make as much sales as DAO but that really is just personal opinion. In the end I do think now it will come down to quality of DLC because the game itself is not a great game, it's ok, maybe above average but not great. If the DLC are all masterpeices with vast amounts of content I think things will begin to look brighter for them, if not the sales will continue to slow to a crawl. Now they promised large content DLC's and story based not silly items/costumes only type DLC. So there is hope for them, just not as much as if they had made a masterpeice of a game in first place.

Because some people are too busy hating on it right now and fill Metacritic scores with a bunch of biased nonsense. That, and it's not really a game-buying season. Finals are coming down on college campuses, no time for games - not to mention vacation season is just starting to wind up and people are getting outside to exercise if you happen to live in a place that gets snow.

It's a good game, it's just not a great game. It has done well enough, but it hasn't broken any records.

Even the best selling game has genre-devotees who will rage on and on. For instance, Crysis II is EA's biggest seller right now, but yet...

"PC fans have been upset at the console[s] inclusion, blaming it for "dumbing down" the game and not looking pretty enough without manual tweaking."

Feeling right at home, here.

Yeah, PC fans might have been annoyed with the direction Crysis 2 took, but the quality of the game has seen it generate fantastic sales despite that vocal criticism. So what's DA2's excuse?

Well that line of thinking doesnt quite work when you've got Bioware rating their own game a 10.

I'll give you a cookie if you give me a link to that quote, if it exsists. I've thought people were ok with it? tis why it's selling pretty well.

Yeah, I think you are on to something! ...Or people could have several legitimate reasons for not buying it? It might not be a terrible game but when you're hungry why spend extra money to needlessly dine on cat food when you have a steak dinner at home? Posted Image

Console gamers are thrilled.  PC gamers are not.  On top of the console verions having less bugs and having their bugs patched faster, the PC versions graphics are clearly way dumbed down to suit the consoles.  It's appalling when you look at shots of the PC version from E3 with physics and breakables and DX11 and then what was actually released on PC.  Add in that the PC multiplayer was launched with NO security and pirates are/were playing online for free with hackers/bots EVERYWHERE then people that actually bought it are/were pizzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzed.

So yeah that quote exists thousands of times.  Just look at Cryteks own forums.

Right, so none of the things that the many people say against DA2 is valid. Way to be objective. I agree that there will be many subjective oppinion heavy reviews of the game, but if you wanted to make a point against that, way to sabotage your point.

Haha, when i bought Divinity II DKS the other day (was on sale for $20), saw some kids looking at DA2 for the PS3, told 'em not to bother and wait for Skyrim. Or if ya play on the PC, The Witcher 2.

If you compare that to Origins respective 5 weeks sales figures to total, it gets more interesting just using the Xbox 360 as one example.

Origins Week 5 - 107,014
Total - 828,357

And that is without offering a free AAA game with the purchase. I suspect that week 6 will have Origins just on the 360 outsell the PS3 and 360 combined for DA2 overall.

"Not looking real good. Probably will only just barely break 1 million on 360 and PS3 lifetime COMBINED."

It alreayd broke a million sales, and it did it in 2 weeks. vgcharts is fantasy numbers. Plain and simple.

btw, It did finish 4th overall in sales (no numbers available) for March which is pretty good for a RPG by BIO according to NPD which while not 100% accurate or covering all sales, it is a hell of a heck lot more trustworthy than vgchartz.

I don't trust VGChartz numbers at all.

But the NPD report released yesterday, and specifically commented on DA2 underperforming.

Even more interesting, total game sales are down 15% year-to-year, and down 9% from 2009's high. Two months of 2011 with significant drops. Mind you, that's with Pokemon added in, and sold at least 2 million units, which accounts for around 20% of March's revenues alone. Take Pokemon out of the picture, and it's a really dismal scene. Bodes very poorly for the rest of the year as well, I don't think there are any other juggernauts scheduled this year, 2011 is very likely to prove to be a massive slide.

Edit:

It alreayd broke a million sales, and it did it in 2 weeks. vgcharts is fantasy numbers. Plain and simple.

No it didn't.  Go reread Bioware's post,  they do not claim at all to have sold 1 million units,  they claim to have moved 1 million units.  They cannot use the word "Sold" unless they can definitvely show they did,  as the SEC would fine the heck out of them because they're publicly traded.

So by virtue of the fact that they did not state they "Sold" 1 million units,  we can definitively confirm they did not sell 1 million units.  The only reason not to use the word is because you didn't do it,  but you want people to think you did,  so you carefully craft a statement designed to make the reader think "Sold" instead of shipped.

It's probably a waste of time responding to you since it seems you have trouble reading and doing basic math, but if you do brush up on those skills read over the post again and then look what you wrote and see if you can figure out where you went wrong.

Yea lots of people on Metacriitic are giving DAII scores of 8,9,10 which are far too high for a mediocre game. Now, those that gave the game between a 4 and 7 are much more believable and deserving for a lackluster sequel to a critically acclaimed game.

Wonder how many of sales were done for the Free ME2.

Well... if vgchartz is to be believed (it isn't)... very little since most of DA2's sales came in the first couple of weeks BEFORE the ME2 deal was even offered. HA!
