I do see the joke in Lady Hawke going "Another manifesto? Really?". But I do remember the Questioning Beliefs where, if you are at Rivalry, you see him writing it almost furiously. And what he read from it made me cringe. Esp. after that hopeful "What do you think?".
And the last bit of your post made me giggle. In a very good way.Anyway, I didn't know you ever actually get a chance to hear any of it. That's interesting... I've gotta console debug him to rival sometime just to see that I think.
It's on Youtube. An amazing scene. And as sweet as the "Putting out milk" one is, that went straight to my heart. What can I say? I adore the angst! *Points to FF in her sig*

You know, that particular scene was poignant to me. I wasn't rivalmancing him, but my Hawke was a pro-Templar in a Templar uniform and Anders is frantically scribbling on his manifesto and reading it out, saying "If I only make you change your mind then it's all been worth it!" and Hawke is just staring coldly at him. It was pretty tense.
Yes, I couldn't agree more. "I swear, I'll have at least you by my side once all of this is done" (Paraphrased)....That was disturbing in its extreme fanaticism and yet also very moving.

I adore it too. Throughout the game, esp. when Merrill mentioned a litter of kittens in Low Town, I was waiting to be able to present Anders with a kitten. Since I adore cats myself.....that scene really is amazingly sweet. And Anders telling Puppy to be a "real" pet....it made me smile...and ache.

You really should've been able to give him a kitten.
Yes. Even if it would have been a repetition of an Awakening gift scene. Poor dear, a kitten would have done him a world of good.

Anders' rage and depression over losing Ser Pounce-A-Lot was the real reason he was so angry at the Templars. It was all just transference.

I bet DA2 would have had a happy ending if you gave Anders a kitten.

Is it really a good idea to give someone possessed by Vengeance a cat? Imagine what would happen if the cat went on his robes instead of the litter box.
That could be the motivation neccesary to push Justice out of himself! Anders would never let himself hurt a kitten. He'd sent Justice flying back to Fade if he even tried it!

But what if Justice has too much control?
I think it'd be a better idea to give him a tiger so it could fight back.

Well maybe we could get Justice to possess Ser Pounce-A-Lot instead. Then they could have an epic battle with Amalia's DesireKitty.

But seriously, that would instantly redeem every single one of Dragon Age 2's flaws.
Well, except for the recycled environments...

Yeah, that would work better. Though I did like Awakening to begin with... at a reduced price.

I didn't even like it all that much then.
DAII on the other hand won me over heart and soul despite it all. (Believe it or not, I was on the fence based on trailers and ads and released info. More against it, in fact.

Heh. Nearly a perfect description of my experience with both games. I was also highly prejudiced against DA2 before actually playing it.
Ser Venge-A-Lot agrees with you too.

However, I still much prefer DA:O overall. I loved DA2's characters though, except Sebastian.
Coincidentally, I didn't like Leliana that much either...

This reminds me of a friend of mine whose DAO LP on Youtube is IMO the best one ever made. She was more on the fence than I, very critical. She too was won over and she will do a DAII LP once her second DAO(DAA/DLC LP is finished.

Maybe it's because I only got him halfway through Act 2, but I never really thought of Sebastian as part of the team. I thought of him as a dude who gave me some quests and took up a party space a couple of times. Cute accent, but sort of empty under it like a brainwashed android.
At the end, when he starts going on about how Anders killed a bunch of innocent people so unless I murder that terrorist's head off right the **** now, he is going to march straight back to Starkhaven to raise an army to kill a bunch of innocent people too, I just didn't care. If it had been Aveline saying that Anders has to die, and I had to choose between those two then it might have been hard. As it was, I wanted a reply option with "Sorry what? Who are you again?" for him.
