My Dragon Age II is killing me
I must confess, I still believe (In Bioware)
When I'm not playing origins I lose my mind
Give me a sign

I suck at being serious today.

Gah! That song was the first thing that came to mind when I saw the thread title!

They added what they wanted, don't take things said about dragon age 2 so personally, we are not out to make people who love the game cry, we actually do fear the way not just origins but the genre itself is going, it's like wrpgs are endangered and laidlaw is sitting with his elephant gun with his finger on the trigger waiting to pull and kill a beaten down animal that was one of the last of it's kind, that's how I see it anyway, I do respect your opinion though, I don't want disrespect anyone who enjoyed it, like I said I'm happy some of the players here actually enjoyed themselves with this game, I don't want to take that from you, what I do want to do is raise concern for a very real possibility that is currently happening, I know you don't agree with me, I'm not asking you to, but that's just me

There are no laws where he comes from. No rules to hold back his command of vitriol and fallacies. Gasoline and shotgun shells are as rare the punctuation he doth not commit to internet.

This board has become a lot of DOOM and GLOOM.  It's become depressing.  For those of us who love the Dragon Age franchise, give us a sign of things to come.  That the negative backlash from very loud and very busy posters hasn't put one of my favorite franchises into the grave they think it deserves to be in with.  For those of us who like DA 2 just as much as DA: O, we just want a sign that there will be some kind of DLC or another Gaider novel.

Because this place has sucked the joy and fun out of the gaming experience.  It feels like people are mourning some imaginary thing they lost and the rest of us are just left to think: Is Bioware giving in to this?  I hope not.

I kinda agree. Especially for the past few days every time I visit the forum, there is a new topic/post beating this game down to the floor, EVEN with things that aren't BAD but just DIFFERENT.

Okay, let me get this straight:

This is a thread for crying, right?

I have an empty jar ready to collect tears or spits.

Different, but not different enough to paste "II" to "Dragon Age"?

The notion that only a "unsubstantial, vocal minority" visits these forums to complain is absurd. People so inclined to even visit forums and post there are an indicator to your (former, loyal) fanbase! 99% of Bioware customers will never visit these forums; albeit they will put DA2 on their shelf and never preorder or might buy a Bioware game again. This is the real problem of DA2, and it is Biowares own doing.

Edit: I really hate Laidlulz comments on the "reused" maps: Paraphrasing he thought that it was "handled" "artfully". I have - here, with me, the Piggyback game guide (paid by me, have fun on your way to the bank, etc. ) - almost any map is used several times(average maybe four times), up to seven times for the "sewers" map. This is a stinker, a really big turd in my book.

WARNING:This post contains opinions.

I'm a big FF fan, have been for years, so have sort of become used to the idea of the next game in a series to be substantially different to it's predecessor. As a result, I wasn't expecting DA:O2. I think it was a bad idea for it to be called DA:2, when it was so substantially different to DA:O. I understand people's disappointment with the change that has been made, however, I don't feel it. I enjoyed DA:O and DA:2 for different reasons. I found flaws in them for different reasons.

I'm a big boy now, so if someone wants to call me a fanboi, let them. I'll ignore it because they don't know me and they appear to have a limited argument. If someone wants to discuss points with me rationally, then that's great. The equalising power of the internet, allowing any and all that want to be mindless, vitriol spewing drones to be so, unfortunately, sees the proliferation of these people.

The problem that so many seem to misunderstand is that while we are customers, we buy what the company offers and that is their vision of a game (hopefully unencumbered by constraints applied from parent companies or external forces such as Fox 'No' News) We want what we want, but we don't always get it. I was disappointed with the new Star Wars films, but it wasn't my story to tell, it was George's.

Interviewer: "Reception to DA2 has been very mixed. Can you elaborate on the situation please?"
Mike Laidlaw: "Does it matter? We've sold copies faster than Origins did, so everybody else can get over themselves and learn to like our game."
Me: Really Mike? Really?!

The above comment (slightly paraphrased) is why I worry about DA3.

Slightly paraphrased doesn't cut it. If you tried this kind of thing in a history or english class you'd get your butt booted. If you're going to make an argument use the exact darn quote in context with reference to the original work.

Sorry to say this, but there are many threads here on the board about those Interviews! If your so concerned about someone making untrue Statesment about them, go and look up/browse/search the Forum for it yourself.

They are not that hard to find. <_<

1) Your disappointment has consumed you to point being obsessively bitter

2) It's become "cool" to bash the game. Hey, someone mention the AWESOME BUTTON. We've only seen the joke....everywhere. It's sheep mentality.

3) You are the type of person who looks for flaws in everything.

Are you trolling??? You are, right?
You have to be..! (???)

Who are you to decide what other people think/feel about the game???

Seriously, the game is seriously flawed and lacking, and we're not even talking about view and opinions here, but facts.
