Apparently, there are many people who have this problem. This is new to me.

I've played both ME1 and ME2.
I was halfway through ME2 on Insane when my computer crashed, so I backed up the Saves and reformatted the PC.

That was long ago. Now I'd like to finish that playthrough, followed by another one with all of the DLCs.
The only problem is, everytime the installation asks for Disk 2, nothing happens.
After the swap, the PC recognizes it. I can look through all of its folders. But the installation would be stuck.
Clicking on Retry would just result in being asked to Insert Disk 2.

1 way to fix this would be to use the EA Downlaod Manager to get it in 1 file.
Another way to fix it would be to drag the files to a harddisk, then to execute the installation from there.

What I don't like about the former solution is that  I need to install EA Download Manager, followed by downloading a huge file.
The latter method could lead to a bad install.

So I'm curious. What causes this problem?
And has there been any official solution to this error?
