I playthru so many times I just like the variety.

Back when I played mmorpg's I played as a female a few times, it was funny because guys (or at least male characters) would come up and just give me things lol

It's the same reason people play as other races in RPGs. I'm not a dwarf, but it doesn't mean I wont enjoy picking it, nor does it mean I get off to dwarves.

In Origins, I played a 2-handed female elf warrior because I thought it was amusing to see this frail little thing dismembering Ogres with a massive battle axe.

A new study has recently been released that showed significantly lower testosterone levels in males who chose to play female characters when there was a choice between male and female.

Studies have shown males who choose to roleplay as females had about 48% less testosterone than the average male. This leads researchers to believe that males who roleplay as women are only half the man.

Ok, I finally got curious there... it seems that 90% of female toons in WoW are played by males.

Also, the females playing the game are estimated between 16-20%

I think it's just a joke, usually the male characters leave after doing it. They don't whisper the females and try to chat with them. Not usually anyways from what I've heard.

Oh, dear, that just made my day.

It's true though I played for 3 years with year break in middle, stopped after 3 years had enough wasting my time grinding on MMOs went back to RPGs, but yeh out of all those years only 3 were in the end confirmed girls through RL interaction, talking and such outside game. It's a good thing unlike alot of players who play WoW, I didn't treat it as a dating service.
