Shepard as a biotic?

with the default appearance. Since then I've played plenty of Soldiers
and Infiltrators, and one engineer, with all kinds of
backgrounds/reputations. I have never ever completed a playthrough as
either a Vanguard, Adept or Sentinel.
Why? I just can't see
Shepard as a biotic. For some reason, my Shepard just isn't biotic.
I just can't wrap my head around it. For me, Shepard is definitely a
Badass Normal.

Just can't get into the Solider or tech classes of ME. Soldiers are exceptionally boring for me.

Whats it like using the biotic classes I've never used them
Vanguard is the most fun class in the game imo. Biotic charge is the definition of awesome.

Gameplay: Soldier is a beast and if you aim good,it's the most powerful class, and can be really fun, especially with Revenant. Adept is effective and fun on lower difficulties, but can be frustrating on Hardcore and Insanity.
Roleplay: During cutscenes, you will never see Shepard use biotics, but he uses assault rifles even if he's not a soldier class. That can be annoying, especially during Arrival, when unarmed biotic Shep punches two guards instead just using biotics on them. Also,I think soldier fits Shep's personality,Paragon or Renegade.

I have no doubt that it is fun, but I just can't see Shepard as a biotic for some odd reason.
I play enough games where all I do is shoot things. I wish Bioware would make Adepts to where they don't even use guns. No guns on the body at all. Just full biotics. With squad powers, it already removes my need to use guns.
That's another reason my Shepard only wears beginning N7 armor because I hate being bulked up as an Adept.
It would be awesome if the Adept cutscenes were specific to the class, but that requires a lot more dev time and blah blah you know the rest.
There's absolutely no reason why my Adept uses ARs in cutscenes, though. I won't say they are lazy, but it is definitely noticed by the dev team. Yet, it's not changed.

Shooting enemies in slow motion and with a magically insane damage boost is as far fetched as creating a Singularity - it definitely isn't "normal".
ME is sci-fi - if you don't like the setting - play Call of Duty or Bad Company or whatever (not that the stuff you're doing in those games is "normal", but you can't use super powers like ME).

Vanguard.
I love charging in with a shotgun and flanking enemies with some firepower.

There's another one of my issues.

I don't know, I see Shepard as definitely being a Biotic. The fact that the greatest soldier in the galaxy doesn't even need a weapon to rip his enemies apart atom by atom makes a lit of sense to me.
There you've got it. SOLDIER. That's one of the parts that annoys me, as well.

Tearing enemies apart with telekinetic powers ain't badass?

I have no problems with biotics. I just feel that Shepard is even more badass when fighting hundred-year old Asari with innate biotic powers, while he himself is just using normal weapons.

I mean, which is more impressive: A Shepard who became a War Hero by holding off a platoon with a single sniper rifle, or a Shepard who doesn't need weapons and can rip people apart using the power of his/her mind?

The latter for me.
Biotic just seems more impressive.

I've (attemped) to make my FemShep (Adept) look like an Asari (of sorts) to give her some extra badass feel.
I love Mass Effect's combination between shooting and using cool powers. You can shoot stuff in many games, but you cannot toss enemies around like flies (ME style) > that's what makes me feel badass!

If Shepard is a Badass Normal I think it's worthy of more respect than someone born with an advantage that always makes one a badass.

Why not at least go for an Infiltrator playthrough as well? Still a soldier with no particularly out-of-the-ordinary powers, but a different flavour of badass than Mr. Run-and-Gun.g-w-m wrote...
I have only completed the games with Soldier class. Nothing more. I've created alternate Shepards (vanguard etc), & while they are fun to play, ultimately I see Shepard as a BAMF Soldier, that doesn't need any extra-ordinary powers to kick ass, he just does.

It's impressive, but in a different way. It's awe-inspiring, but not inspiring.
.
I can see it as inspiring.
I think because I take it from this perspective. I don't see every human using Biotics. Now I'm not saying some don't. Just the ones I fight against, don't always use biotics.
By that to master biotic over a gun, is like knowing the arcane arts.
I see biotics as something alien to the humans. And thus to control something alien of our biology, that's more impressive than picking up a gun.

Yeh that'll be one to playthrough before ME3, for sure. I tend use my soldiershep as a sniper anyway, so it would prob make sense to try the infiltrator!!
