Will the PS3 version of Mass Effect 3 be better than the Xbox 360 version?

As a PS3 owner, I'm proud to own the superior version of Mass Effect 2 and I'm hoping that this bump in quality will continue to be apparent in Mass Effect 3.
Afterall, the PS3's hardware is superior since it came out a year after the Xbox 360 so it only makes sense that PS3 owners such as myself get the superior version just like we got the superior version of Mass Effect 2.

Last time I checked the PC version was the "superior" version or did I enter an alternate universe where 1280 x 720 @ sub 30fps on the PS3 is better than 1920 x 1080 @ 60fps on the PC ?

Both consoles have their strengths and weaknesses, some aspect of the game will be better on the 360 and some aspects of the game will be better on the PS3.  I don't even know why I am bothering to reason with a troll here.

When comparing platforms I generally don't include the PC as a platform since the hardware of the PC can vary dramatically and therefore so can the quality.
The performance of the console versions is easier to describe.

Not at all, Casey Hudson himself described the PS3 version as the definitive version of Mass Effect 2.

It really is.  It's got the Mass Effect 3 engine and most of the DLC.  It pretty much is like having a Mass Effect 2 ultimate collector's edition except it's a PS3 exclusive and as a PS3 owner I'm proud of that.

To be honest i hate the WERE BETTER THAN THAT PLATFORM debate... They cant work miracles as with both consoles they have a modded version on direct x 9... sure ps3 have a better version but its still just direct x 9 ... I now know im going to sound like a pc hardcore ppl that i hate because all i see them do is whine but anyway only diffrence you can significantly tell is going to be on Pc with the direct x 11. Theyre using the same engines so were just going to have to wait and see.

But for the love of god just use "im proud to have the superior version"....Your asking to be mobbed by angry xbox fans.. especially seeing they've ME1 in their armory....

Psst Me2 and Me3 are using the same engine....

Sorry for double post.

They both use the Unreal 3 engine but the PS3 version uses the enhancements that we'll see in Mass Effect 3.  The jump in quality from the Xbox 360 version to the PS3 version is much like the graphical upgrades we first saw in Mass Effect 2 compared to Mass Effect 1.

Well, for the record I actually own the PC version and yes it runs better on my PC than on consoles.  I usually always compliment my PC games with a console version though so I can get trophies or Xbox 360 achievements.

Nope that excuse doesn't cut it, just because you know the PC version is better doesn't mean you can cut it out of the equation just to say your preferred platform is better.  You do not need powerful PC hardware to vastly out perform the console version on a PC.

You claimed that the PS3 had the superior version of Mass Effect 2, that clearly isn't the case the PC version has the superior version of Mass Effect 2 end of discussion really.

The PC version isn't necessarily better though.  It could be worse if you have a crappy PC and it doesn't make sense to only compare the game as it appears on more powerful hardware.
Those are my standards at least and being as there is no written rule that mandates I conform to your standards of comparison I will continue to omit the PC version in comparison of multi-platform games.

The point is that you sound like a zealot:

"OMG THE PS3 VERSION IS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH BETTER LOLOLOL!!11one!!1"

For the record, the PS3 hardware is not superior to the X360's. I have a PS3 myself, so I know what I'm talking about. They're equivalent for the most part.

If the PS3 version is superior, it's because it was in development for a much longer period.

So, to answer your question: no, the PS3 version of ME3 won't be better than the X360 version.

Of course the PS3 is more powerful. It's Cell processor has 9 cores compared to the tri core processor on the Xbox 360.

Only reason some games on the Xbox 360 look better is because it's harder to program with but Bioware programmers know what they're doing hence the superiority of Mass Effect 2 on the PS3.

OK I will just remind you of what you said in your first post shall we :-

So by your OWN rules if something has superior hardware we shouldn't be comparing games on different platforms. No matter what way you cut it if you are talking about the "superior" version of Mass Effect 2 then that only exists on the PC , you just refuse to ignore that because you seem to have the horn for the PS3.

Nope it does not have 9 cores it has 1 PPU and 6 SPE's which can barely be described as cores in this day and age.  It does NOT have 9 cores the version of the cell in the PS3 has 2 cores locked off and inaccessible to developers.  On the xbox 360 side the 360's GPU is more powerful than the PS3's and the 360 has access to all 512mbs of ram rather than the PS3's messy solution of having 2 banks of 256mbs, 1 bank of which the  GPU cannot access without a performance penalty.

The difference here being that the hardware of the Xbox 360 and PS3 are both set in stone.(except for the hard drives).

The PC's performance can differ dramatically depending on the user's processor and GPU so therefore I don't think it makes sense to outright delcare the PC version as superior when that isn't the case on every PC user's hardware.
I own all three versions of Mass Effect 2 so I'm not biased on way or the other.  I'm just calling it as it is, the PS3 version is the best.

Main problem for me is that the PS3 version is missing content like Conrad Verner and the other minor characters from Mass Effect 1.

Yes you are biased because you are ignoring the PC version so you can make a ridiculous claim that the PS3 is somehow "superior".  The PS3 version is not better than the PC version so at the end of the day the superior version is on the PC.

Now you may have a claim to say that "the PS3 version is slightly better than the Xbox 360" but you cannot say the PS3 version is the superior version because that version is on the PC.

You clearly do not understand the console tech here since you can't even get the number of cores right on your beloved PS3, I suggest you quit whilst you are 10 steps behind.

Personally I think that such encounters just served to slow down the game's pacing and narrative.

None of them served really much of a point other than as cameos.
