The duration of the ads only seem to be getting longer and longer and I'm getting really tired of it.

Agreed. I've seen ads longer than the video.

I agree...but I'm afraid it's just too late.
It's become such a popular Media outlet that the Ads are here to stay.
There doesn't seem to be anywhere that one can go anymore without being Adverstised to.

Advertisement pays for the content. Would you rarther pay for the content yourself? Or perhaps you feel you should just be able to steal content as you wish lol

I have just spent about an hour and a half on youtube and hardly saw any ads other than the adsense text implementation that can be clicked away. Blame the uploader for choosing the ads, not Google. If an uploader decides to spam you, move on.

No, it pays for the hosting.

Well, google has to pay a few fees to the studios as well, at least in some countries.

You think you got it bad? One of my favourite video series is Nostalgia Critic’s movies in five seconds. Every time I have to suffer through an ad that is twice the length of the actual video!

So I look out the window on the bus, hey someone put an ad there, oh well play a game on my phone, yikes ad, ok focus hard, look out the window through the transparent advert, woh bus hoardings, um taxi ads, um bus stop ads, um wall hoardings, guys walking the street in sandwich boards, everyone wearing clothes sigged by some european poseur, their watches, their glasses, xst that guy has a logo tatooed on him???

Has no effect on me, I give all my money to my offspring. hmm... wish I'd listened to those contraceptive ads.....

Just get Adblock Plus, an addon for Firefox. I haven't seen an ad in months

They need the money! Youtube is FREE! A lot of sites make you pay now-a-days just to have your own profile.

Sure ads are annoying especially if you have low quality internet, but it's necessary because of the large space that the site eats up. Like Lovey said, I would prefer youtube stay subscription free.

What darth said. You can either do that, or not use youtube. I do not forsee a likeliness at all of the advertising to stop. You can either alter it with adblock, avoid it by not using the website, or accept it. Those are the choices.

as others said, use a tracking ad blocker - they block video ads.

Dunno.  Maybe I'll be able to answer that when I figure out what this Youtube is that people keep going on about.  Is it one of those underground metro systems?

I find the ads tolerable. They only come up every few videos. Generally one forced viewing per sitting is the maximum unless I watch a bunch of stuff in a row. I find the ads at Hulu much harder to take. Skipping those requires a bit of trickery. At least YouTube ads sometimes give me an opt out option after the first ten seconds.
