This is a question to Bioware.  I doubt you'll answer.  I expect you'll lock the thread.  But it's a genuine question.

Why does this Laidlaw guy, the guy that got to run Dragon Age now the real head guy left, keep insulting the fanbase?

Firstly he insulted us with the game itself.
Then he insulted us with his comments about the "hardcore fanbase" and hints that we're all just scared of change.
Then we get insulted by Bioware employees rating their own game 10/10 and saying anyone who doesnt think its amazing is wrong..
Then he does another interview where he insults us saying he doesnt care what we think, he doesnt read the forums or our feedback and thinks we're all wrong.

I don't expect him to admit his failures.  I don't expect him to trash the game while he's supposed to be out selling it.  But it would be enough not to mention the fanbase at all.  To call us names and insult us is just ugh.

This guy should be fired in all honesty and you should get the DA1 designer back.  You know, the one who's name I don't know because he never insulted the fans out loud.

Brent Knowles

Edit - answer to the OP's question. He left Bioware due to "Disagreements over the future of Dragon Age and Bioware titles".

Not at all.  Just a legitimate question.

If I told my customers where to go, I'd lose my job.

You do need quotes, exact ones made from him though if making a thread like this. Rather than relying on impression. For your own benefit it adds validity to your opinion just like the rest of us have to in order to back up our opinions.

Dragoonlordz is right you should find yourself some quotes and if possible links to reference in your post, else you really come accross as a troll and one does not want that.

Also, you may want to rephrase the part about "First he insulted us with the game itself." to something that is less absolute, the way its worded implies we all believe the game was poor or an insult and that will only cause you more problems. It's your opinion and I respect that, but I personally don't view the game as an insult, so you may want to work on that part to properly reflect that its your opinion, something like "First I feel he insulted us with the game itself". Just a suggestion.

I don't think "this Laidlaw guy" as you call him speaks for all of Bioware. So asking a question to Bioware, won't get you much of a response.

It sounds to me like you were looking to be insulted.

The game itself did not insult you purposefully. He did not have a thing to do with a random bioware employee writing a review. And any 'hints' you took from interviews could easilly be a misinterpretation.

But humor me. What names did he call you? Dragoonlordz is correct. Exact quotes might go a long way towards making your arguement.

Well normally I'd say that there was much more insulting Bioware then there is Bioware insulting us.

The difference of course of that Bioware is a company which employees should know how to behave. Some do not. They should get punished in an appropriate way.

Nothing like presenting your perception as fact - without one shred of evidence to support what you claim.

Major FAIL.

I'm honestly disgusted by people clamoring about how this is the op's opinion. He/she made the statement. By virtue of there not being quotes it is subjective and I'm sure the op knows that. Even if it were factual you are supposed to automatically assume it's subjective until the op produces anything concrete.

I seriously read every post stating that something is someone's opinion (unless someone actually states their view is fact when it isn't) as though that individual just learned the difference between fact and opinion. Grow up. That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.

Oh, look - it's another "let's fire <x>" threads - only this time it's because of alleged insults by the dev and the OP's dislike of the game. Exciting stuff!

Adding references to one's arguments or opinions is never a bad thing. It backs up a persons viewpoint and diminishes those against him. That is why people like me suggested linking quotes to the things in particular he is mentioning, it's for his benefit as much as anything else and if you can't see that then the fault lays with yourself not me.

I neither care nor wish to side with either on this as I already made a thread a simular aspect a while back and learned from that the best way to put forward such a topic like this. I gave advice how to best improve his standpoint and it's up the the OP to use or not that advice. http://social.biowar...5/index/6919590

That's all fine and dandy, but the OP is also pulling a lot of people into his "fanbase", and as would appear reading these forums not nearly everybody is insulted by the game or by Laidlaw's statements. I, for one, do not want to be associated with opinions such as those presented by the OP. I respect his right to state them, and I also expect my right to express my support for BioWare and Laidlaw and whoever to be respected.

You gotta be real careful when making generalisations about people. It's never just a "fanbase" (or whatever group you're talking about). It's a whole lotta people with different opinions, and only parts of the people will actually share your opinion. So better stick to referring to that portion instead.

To paraphrase Seamus from Dragon Age II: "Some people work very hard at being offended".

You're one of them. Congrats?
