While the new combat system was an amazing improvement, the game did loose its soul somewhere along the way....
# Reused areas
# Shoehorned in romances
# Weak storytelling - except, I repeat except for the Flemeth sequences.
# Cameos from DAO characters were just slapped on
# Enemies spawning out of thin air
# No sense of connection to your companions
# People in the world do not speak the lore, the player has to read wall after wall of text
The list can go on, but the general sense of a rushed, thrown together product is very strong after playing the game. I fear that comparisons with The Witcher 2 over the next few months will be brutal.
I hope Bioware does not decieve itself that there are no danger signs. I hope the development crew does not fall prey to arrogance and brush off feedback.
The old attitude of "We make what we want to make and you have to deal" cannot continue....
I wish them luck, I hope the team can pick up from here and do better.

Oblivion is unplayable out of the box.
Having confidence that Skyrim will be good at this stage seems.. premature.

How about posting what YOU thought after finishing the game once or twice? (If you have done so at all)
The only thing I agree with there are the re-used areas. And they are a minor bother to me, given how the game's story had me gripped.
And I too am looking forward to The Witcher 2. Redesign (New Geralt...yech!) and bugs included. It'll be a nasty awakening, I fear. OMGZ, now even TW2 has become an abomination! Death on CDPR!" topics WILL happen.

As I don't have the ability to stop you from doing anything, I don't see how that matters. The question was why. Its already been posted. In a thread designed for such feedback. Reposting serves no real purpose, especially if you don't explain your reasoning for said repost.

What's wrong with new Geralt?
I was infatuated by the old, gritty Geralt. He looked BADASS.
New one looks like a pretty boy with white hair to me. If they really change his VO actor too (Any news on this? I haven't been following TW2 all that much) I will be having fits of fangirl rage!

For a thread based on opinions, this is a glaring example.
I own Oblivion on the Xbox 360 and the PC, and found that they were both very enjoyable on launch day release, same with Morrowind.
But, in my opinion, Mods enhance the experience, but the Vanilla experience was always enjoyed before/after teh mods.

Nothing wrong with new Geralt, was nothing wrong with old one either. What is wrong with recent changes to mains is the new Devil (Makes me) Cry change to appearance. Went from cool guy to little boy.
CD Projekt can afford to do that without being crucified because they are a small "independent" (heh) developer. This makes complete sense and should totally not be seen as a contradiction.Persephone wrote...
So much for TW2 supposedly being perfect when it comes to continuity and immersion. Yeah, lets change our lead's iconic look until Triss herself wouldn't recognise him and hey, nobody will notice if our lead has a different voice now, right?

You may enjoy it, but that doesn't change the fact that the base game is fundamentally flawed.

The same could be said about Dragon Age 2, it's all a matter of opinion of how much they enjoyed their experience.

For me...
Voicing your opinion about a product you bought and was dissatisfied with is the right of every consumer. Expressing concern over the tone and choice characterizations posed by a certain designer is also the right of anyone who read it and felt affected by it.
Call me a whinner, old fogey, someone afraid of change, troll, paranoid, whichever label you choose, it doesn't change anything. If I bought something and wasn't happy about it, I'll say so....and I could care less what anyone has to say about it!

This is very true too, yes. I for one tend to be very forgiving re: flaws if it is a game I personally enjoy.
How else could I have loved the unmodded Morrowind? (Mods are essential now!) Or unmodded BG? Or unmodded DAO?

It depends on the flaw for me to be honest, I didn't really have many gamebreaking Oblivion bugs, but I did have a few that pulled me right out of immersion but I still rate it as a very good RPG in an open world environment.
Dragon Age 2 just didn't really do it for me personally, I've voiced my opinions on the matter but I've just started my second playthrough (Waited for patch to fix bugs), and I'm finding it hard to carry on playing.
