while he most definitely sounds like a tool, it sounds like he's at least legit.

hopefully he just misunderstood.... D:

Well, we *know* Chris Priestly posted and asked for affected GTs and said they were figuring out the cause and possible solutions, and this guy says that a vaguely stated "someone" at Bioware "basically hinted" it would not be fixed.

It's not a guarantee of getting a fix, but which end of that would YOU bet on?

fair enough :D

for the most part... my stance is that as long as i get the points, i don't really care when it happens.

Just throwing my GT in here; I have the same problem with "Rock and a Hard Place"

GT: Chief027

I hope they fix this... having an achievement I'll never be able to unlock will drive me crazy...

Fuhkk EA,M$, and as for Bioware... perhaps dipping into consoles was a little out of your league. Stick with the P.C.

DA:O wasn't the first console game Bioware made (KOTOR, Jade Empire, Mass Effect)... and this isn't the first glitch in a game, nor the worst (by a long shot). What impressions come from this now should come from whether they resolve it quickly and professionally. Too soon to tell.
And as a side note, I believe the console port was handled by Edge of Reality.

We are currently looking into how best to address the achievements issue. Microsoft didn't post the updated achievement list until Nov 6th, which was the European release date. Achievements unlocked before this date did not register on Xbox live for this reason. We have been investigating ways to address this with the current game and server systems but have been unsuccessful so far. We will likely need to release a title update to fix this issue, which will take a while as title updates needs to go through the standard certification process.

The good news is that the achievement unlocks did register properly on your EA profiles, so it looks like once the title update is available you'll automatically get the missing Xbox achievement unlocks.

Thank you!  I suspected we'd have to wait for a title update, but was *hoping* for a quicker solution. Oh well! B)

Thanx for the info/update !
By the way I know that the european release was the 5th or 6th but some stores released it the 3th(like my store where i bought DA:O) so that's why some european got the same problem.

BTW great game !

In the same boat as everyone else here, but following what the above poster stated, I decided to check to see if mine said the same. When I mouseover any of my achievements under my social profile, I cannot tell... because they are in French. :/

Does anybody know anything about the "Dual-Weapon Master" achievement? It says on this site that I have unlocked that achievement but I didn't even know there was such an achievement. I've checked my XBOX profile and an achievement site and they do not list it as an achievement. Says that "Main character learned all Dual Weapon talents".

yeah, count me in.  posted about this in another thread before the X360 Tech forum opened up.

- i got the Warden's Keep achvmnts and the first Stone Prisoner achvmnt on release day: they show up as unlocked in the D.A.O. achvmnt list, but no "achvmnt score / value" was added to either the D.A.O. score or my overall Gamerscore.

- finished the Stone Prisoner / Shale personal quest a couple days later: same thing.  achvmnt unlocked, no "value" added to either game score or my overall Gamerscore.

PoP's Epilogue had this same thing happen when it came out; achvmnts would unlock but didn't "have any 'score' value".  from what i read at the time, it sounds like its kinda the same issue as here: the achvmnts weren't "loaded" in time for the game's release.  once a title update came out, the Epilogue achvmnts were removed from your unlocked achvmnts list and you had to re-earn them, but other than that everything was groovy from that point out.  not saying thats what is and/or will happen in this case....But.... you'd think, with "A-list / Premium" titles like PoP and D.A.O., MS'd be more on the ball with when achvmnts are "loaded into the database" (or whatever) for which country / area, Particularly since acvhmnts are a X360 feature-set 'bullet point'.

anyway, even if we Do end up having to re-earn 'em (not saying we will), at least they're just story-progression-related.

here's to certification process going thru as smoothly as possible.

oh yeah, and: Bioware (AND Edge Of Reality!!), this is a Sickly Sweet game!!!! thanks to Everyone.

take it easy.

There are more achievements on the Bioware site than on the 360; e.g. there is one for completing the game without your character falling in battle, and one for killing a certain number of enemies with the 'arrow of slaying' ability. They shouldn't show up on the 360, and they don't count toward gamerscore.

Thanks for the update Mr. Leong, glad to know it's being worked on. Looking forward to the next title update

Add me to the body count of people who have unlocked some of the DLC achievements without it counting towards overall Gamerscore.

I typically hate "me too-ism" but in an instance like this, it seems rather necessary.

Will say I am looking forward to all future content to keep this positive.

I've never noticed extra achievements, but I have noticed the achievements I do have change the tool tip for what they say on the social site, such as warden commander being in relation to allister's demise, rather then wardens keep, and as another poster said, all my social site achievements say they're corrupted in a seperate tooltip

Not bashing you guys, but thts what everyone on xbox.com guessed on day 1.
3 weeks to explain that from the guys who work with computers?

anyway, thanks a lot - if you fix it that is....

You may work with computers, but how much experience do you have in developing applications spanning across three client platforms and integrating them with a 100,000 user web network and backend database?  And will all the bugs to fix after launch (and there are always bugs), how do you prioritize the ones to fix first?  And when you have to deploy two of the patch sets across proprietary networks, how many bugs do you put together before you release the deployment package?

DLC on day 1. you havnt tested anything if thats how you handle your buisnes, thats the thing.
But Bioware/EA for some reason (money obviously) thought it was necessary to charge money on day 1 for content they havnt tested ,some call it greed others stupidity - I say greed.

DLC was a free in-box add-on day 1. From the statement the Bioware employee posted, it would appear that the DLC achievements as recorded by Xbox Live were not updated until the European release date. It's a problem, but I don't see the world ending over it, and I don't see anyone being robbed of their money value because of it. As long as you still get to play the game you get the value. Grow up and get over it, there really are more important things to worry about. Like stopping the blight.

For a lot of people, the achievements/gamerscore *are* part of the value!

Anyway, back to Renaissance Italy while I wait for the gods of Bioware to bestow a blessed title update upon us.
