Yeah, I'd love to hear anything, even if it's just "Waiting on Microsoft to approve our title update" or something.

So I am guessing this bug is never going to be fixed?

It'll happen the same day you go back and read the thread. Yep, the fix will come as soon as you read that a Bioware employee already told us they were fixing it, and the fix is a title update, and that the title update will have to go through MS certification.

RTFT!  :o

I totally thought I was horrible at math when I realized that my last few achievements didn't add up lol. Good to know that it was just the DLC and a fix is coming though, Thanks Bio

Something is rotten on the state of Edmonton. In farming out devolment of the console versions of Dragon Age: Origins, Bioware has made a huge mistake. There are a legion of bugs plauging the Xbox360 version of the game.Achievements not registering, quest being unplayable, freezing, the dex bug (where adding points to your character does not increase damage for melee weapons) and most egregious of all the vendor bug. If you sell too much of your stuff to any one merchant (like one might do with your in camp vendor) or fill your items chest at wardens keep (created specifically for this purpose) your game corrupts and becomes unplayable. I’ve counted well over 30 people whom this has happned to on the bw social network, and searching the net have found many more. The most disturbing part about this is the lack of support from Bioware when you send them an official e-mail about the incident you get an auto reply saying they will reply within 24 hrs. Several of us are well over 10 times that and not a word. The bottom line is Bioware has allowed EA to ruin them. When an artform becomes run by a corporation everybody suffers. As a game media outlet I implore you to run this story to give voice to those of us BioWare deems voiceless.
My Thanks in Advance,
S.

You should also submit to Kotaku... I did but they didn't pick it up.  If more do maybe they'll put it out on front street.  (i'd bet it gets fixed faster then...)  I think it's just:          tips@kotaku.com

I'd bet anything 90% of those effected don't even know it because achievements pop up in game like you really got them.

you guys realize that the M$ approval for patches does NOT take 4 weeks right?

Games like Borderlands and Red Faction had patches to fix previously unknown bugs within DAYS of their release...

BW just sucks working under EA

Well its not just the bugs, its more the lack of an official statement about all. I already wrote IGN and did a response on amazon.de too about this. Well, time to download Shivering Island it seems.

I agree it shouldn't take this long, Borderlands did indeed recieve an achievment fix 5 days after it came out.  Apparently the development engine to test achievments on isn't always the current MS version.  Heck if it's broke fix it, if you don't want to release title updates then don't release a bugged game (almost not possible).  Atleast put some fixes in a DLC instead of releasing one day 1 with even more bugs, would it have hurt EA/Bioware to wait on the Warden expansion?

We're working on it, and will support our consoles versions as best as we can given whatever limits exist for each platform. It takes time.

For us to release anything close to launch we would have needed to start working on it before the game shipped. MS is actually fairly good and it is not uncommon for them to help get things out sooner when they can, but this isn't always possible. And none of that is taking into account what time is actually needed to find and fix the actual issues - which of course varies.

There are also specific limits to what kinds of things you can fix using DLC vs title updates - it's not always possible to just use DLC.

Thank you for the update.  I know we can be an impatient lot, but take that for the compliment it is!  I'd rather be playing DAO, but in the meantime I've finished AC2, The Zombie Island of Dr Ned (Borderlands), and am working on Ballad of Gay Tony (GTAIV).

Just don't take too much longer, I may run out of new games to play! ^_^

Thanks for an update, hopefully everything works out soon, but in the meantime it's good to know it hasn't been forgotten or put on a back burner. I just hope the update doesn't get lost in a sea of replies from people that don't even read the thread, but just post a reply at the end of it complaining about something that's already been brought up 12 times.

Just adding in that one of my achievements has glitched to where it is unlocked but the points were not added to my GT. When I look at DA it says 50 out of 54 unlocked, when I click and look in depth it says 51 out of 54 unlocked. It is probably one of the DLC achievements, because Rock and a Hard Place seems to be the common one to glitch and my score is off by 25G.

"work is underway" sounds like we'll have to wait another 3-5 weeks to me.

More for curiosity sake, the PC is getting patch 1.02 already and there hasn't been a patch released for the 360.

I'm assuming it's easier (process/red-tape wise) to get the PC patches out versus the console ones.  However, when the 360 patch is released will we be considered a version behind, or will it bring us up to speed?

This thing always seems to happen to me glad I am not the only one.  Same thing happened to me in Fallout 3.  Happy to find this because I was ready to give up on the game but to know its beeing fixed makes me want to play it again lol.

According to the Melo, we were supposed to be getting the patch at the same time as PC. That obviously isnt the case as there was a shadow edit to Melo's post and only PC was put out today.

If we get ours any time soon, then we will either be up to date, or they will never hear the end of the angry rage from the console owners before they see the lack of faith in the devs start jumping over to their other projects.

Sora - I'll repeat part of my response from the PC forum where you also posted a similar comment.  I put the link here to where each week I've been doing a brief update and I think I've been pretty clear (or at least have been trying) to separate what is a PC patch (now on 1.02, with work on 1.03 underway) and Console update (likely to be dubbed update #1 as we get closer, which I did mention was also underway) - these are completely different dev threads and I would expect will continue to release independent of one another as they become available (at least for now).

A balance issue on the console is not necessarilly a problem on PC.  A mem leak on the PC may already be addressed on the console as this was finished months after the PC.

Each platform will get its updates based on the priority of the issues - based on what folks are reporting here, what we get from our regular contact with EA customer support, and what the platform manufacturer's rules allow us to do.

Hope that helps.

I've already dropped that matter considering it seems like a screw over to see major problems ignored for DLC complaints and that Customer Service is **** considering EA claims 90% of the reports they get are gameplay issues and send us back here where we get no help.

So you can see why I might have a fit of rage or two when I have had to deal with this for almost 3 weeks now.

hopefully the achievements get fixed before the new dlc on the 29th, I'm missing all 4 dlc achievements on my xbox profile/score, and I would love to do one last 60 hour playthrough and 100% this game finally, till then I guess its back to chipping away at me1 and fable2

They have no intention of fixing this before releasing more broken DLC and stealing more money from everyone they can. That's why they hide behind their forums and just lead you all on with...."we're working on it."  They've got our money and laughing at how stupid we were for buying their trash. Have made sure all members of my gaming clan know about this EA/BioWare scam, and have all boycotted your products. Maybe somedday you'll learn to keep your customers happy for a more loyal fan-base instead of the quick buck scam you're running here.
