If there is to be any kind of spin off, I wouldn't mind choices made by my Shepard to impact other games, but once the trilogy is over, so is Shepard's story.

Personally, I would like to see multiple endings. If Heavy Rain can do seven, I think ME3 could have at least five or six.

No, too cliche.

I don't see how.

Flowers and butterflies endings outweight endings where the protagonist dies like 100 to 1, and that's being generous.

Stories on this scale usually have the protagonist die or have something happen to them that permanently disables their ability to protect, and always in the name of making things seem "final" in said story. I'm not necessarily saying it's bad, it's just way too predictable and disappointing. If the threat is over, why is it necessary that the protagonist also needs to be neutralized? As someone mentioned before, I actually want to see a payoff for making the right decisions.

Best to have both, then.

Agreed. It's been confirmed that there are multiple endings anyway, can't wait to see how they pull it off.

I want the option to have a heroic death killing the reaper and being a hero
Or Concieving a child whom will take the Reaper taint into his body.
Or make Alistar do it

No I will not. Sypher and Liara are supposed to be having a bunch a little blue children that may or may not remember her in 400 years.

Well unless Sypher succeeds in getting a reaper tech upgrade so her cybernetics will keep her alive long enough to see her daughters grow up.

If he dies he must die like an absolute bad ass that he is.

I want ultimate choices...and Shepard sacrificing himself could be one of those.

I'll be okay with it if it's an option. Not so much if it's either the only option, or the only option I can take without feeling like an ass (ala Fallout 3).

I would be if he died cool like Noble 6 or leonidas. But I also want that to be my choice. I want an option. Die or save the galaxy and live happily with your LI

Only if Shepard dies before the last mission and Conrad Verner takes it from there.

Only if it's based on your choices. I don't want it to be mandatory.

I'd like one of the endings to be similar to that of fallout 3, where Shepard has to choose between saving himself, or the person of alternate character (maybe the LI?). Both outcomes would be bittersweet and meaningful.

However as this is Mass Effect, a game based on your choices, there could also be a happy sunshine and butterfly's ending, or a tragic Shepard and LI die on board a reaper ending, or a even more tragic epic FAIL ending where everyone dies, just in case you really suck.

Didn't Bioware say that we will be able to play post campaign like in ME2 in the GI article? Which would leads me to believe that Shepard can survive. I'm fine with there being an ending where Shep has to make Ultimate Sacrifice but only if our choices were not good enough.

But if it’s not the only option and the others are fine and don’t make you an ass isn't it kind of pointless?

Depends which playthrogh I'm on, my renegade Shepard would never sacrifice himself, he's too badass. My Paragon Shepard and maybe even my Paragade would however.

Sacrifice and redemption make a story stronger. Happy endings where there is no price to play does nothing to make a story resound.

I agree with this.

FO3's choice didn't matter in the end after the DLC came out, they also fixed it to include one more rather obvious choice - although the narrator didn't really understand the value of grasping the obvious (since they just reused lines from Ron :P)

As long as its done correctly...

When I heard that dieing in ME2 just means you couldn't import your save i was srsly disappointed. There is so much that could of happened with the death of shepard. A new character to play in ME3, an entire shift in story. It would of been awesome.

Seeing as how ME3 is the end for shepard, live or die, it'll honestly be difficult to screw up.

I guess people who didn't survive the suicide mission just have to say "The End" and pretend that ME3 never happened.

Shepard dying? Again?

I wanna have the full range of possible endings, from the total defeat to the flowers and butterflies. I'm not againts the possibility of having Shepard heroically falling in the final battle... but only until it remains a POSSIBILITY and not an unavoidable outcome.

Bioware developers look around and asks ME cast
Kelly: My female intuition says, no
Miranda: Is there any way that i can persuade you not to do so?
Developers drool and stare at her "assets"
Mordin: Why? What purpose would it serve? Ah! Make gameplay more diverse, emotional and interesting.
*Developers stare at Mordin dumbfounded, unresponsive and confused. Mordin looks at the team and glares at them with evil eyes
Mordin: Farming tool, once killed a Krogan with it. Pitch fork anyone?
*Developers gulp
Samara: His death would greatly displease me and to force the option of death would be unjust. I punish the unjust
*Developers gulp again
Zaeed: Another war story with me as the sole survivor? Why not?
Garrus: Can it wait? I'm in the middle of some calibrations
Female developer: Count me on the to do list then!
Jack: Roses are red, my head feels like poo. If you kill Shepard, then i will come f*** you!
Developers gulp again as jack glows with biotic power
Grunt: Is that a challenge for a fight?
The developers look nervously at each other and shake their heads at Grunt
Thane: Should i be ok? I am going to die soon, so why not kill me instead? Until then, i am too sexy to die.
*Females within the development team drool
Legion: We are reaching a consensus, please try again later.
Jacob: Heavy risk of losing status as a ladies man if caught supporting his death, but the priiiiizeee
Tali: I have a shotgun

Harbinger: Who will carry out the process if so happens?
All the developers hold up a hand
Harbinger: ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL!

Shepard: Kill me and you will be encoding the inside of your colon!

To be continued.....................

But otherwise, Tali would rage and shotgun the team. Hell no i wouldn't be happy, Shepard deserves a peaceful ending with Tali on her homeworld.

One thing is for sure, i want a conclusive ending and not a tease one(where the hero just dissapears and u dont know if his dead or alive)

I hate the happy ever after endings...

they are SOO unrealitic i cant just stand them...people is dying, entire species were reaped, so many family members lost forever..a lot of work to find people and rebuilt infraestructures..and shepards biggest concern now is to marry and go honeymoon?...

Between diabetes fairy tale sweet ending and shepard dieing heroically, i vote shepard dieing.
