I just got to Aesgareth and am trying to play him at his Deck of Many Things game.  Every time I get a draw and a mild debuff, then he draws a card that prompts a fight.  His whole team kills the enemy or enemies, but Aesgareth just stands there, and once the guys are dead the entire party is unresponsive.  What do I do?

Is your mild de-buff something like permanent silence (requiring remove curse).

I know one of them is slow but I will try that in case there is a silence rider or something.

Nah, no dice. He is completely unresponsive to any characters after the battle. He doesn't even fight back if I attack him, and his team watches me kill him and only goes hostile once he's dead.
