Minor, yet annoying things; This is not a rant.

1) Running away in battle. It really drives me nuts when I start running away in battle, get like 20 feet away, then the enemy swings his sword and kills me. I understand that it's because the virtual dice were rolled and it registered a hit, but still; I'm 20 feet away. What is this darkspawn, a jedi?
2)The quickbar, and clickablity. I can't count the amount of times I've clicked on my hotbar and dragged the ability/spell/whatever and dragged it off the bar instead of activating it. I mean, come on Bioware. A slight delay on the drag option wouldn't be that hard to implement. We're talking about a fraction of a second here. I find it really interrupts the flow the game.
3) Dialog choices. This is for Bioware games in general. I'd say easily 50% of the time there aren't any dialog options that I would actually choose were I in my character's situation. For many years now I've been wishing for some sort of text recognition AI, where you have an option to type in what you would actually want to say in a certain situation, and the AI looks at the keywords and gives you a valid response. I have to be honest and say that DA:O is better with their options than their previous games, but there it is anyway.
4) Go F*** yourself, fluorospar. I didn't realise I was playing neverwinternights 3 when I bought this game. Fluorospar? Malachite? give me a break. A little originality goes a long way. What's the point of recycling concepts that were lame to begin with? Bioware came up with a lot of unique and interesting gameplay concepts for DO:A, and IMHO just backtracked by throwing in the same old filler content. This is a professional developer we're talking about here. Don't you have an entire department dedicated to thinking s**it up? Like, you know...the part in the development process where you conceptualize?
Anyway, maybe it is a little bit of a rant, but it just so happens that I am in a prety bad mood presently because of stuff that is in no way related to the game. My intention, however, is not to rant, and I promise I will be back with some good and pleasant things to say about DO:A. I do really enjoy the game and these little things don't even come close to ruining the game for me, but I do find them quite annoying.
And before the first troll that pops along and says "Wow! you're complaining just for the sake of complaining", I'll beat you to it and just tell you straight out that you're probably right.
All right, your turn.

2) You can lock the hotbar, ower left corner. Little lock symbol.
3) In the world of tomorrow this would be neat but it just dosn't exist yet.
4) Those are actual semi-precious gems I don't hear you ****ing about diamonds.
Just sayin.

Agreed that better dialog choices would be nice. I remember walking into Haven and having Sten complain that we weren't going straight off to fight the Archdemon. All I wanted to say was "You think the 4 of us can take out an army of Darkspawn AND the archdemon? No? Shut it then."
That said, we're a long way away from AI being able to properly handle free text..

FYI, Fluorite (Florospar), Malachite, etc are all real minerals.
Yeah, on Earth. One might think Thedas had come up with different names, at least...
No biggie for me, but I think that's what OP is talking about...

1-Yeah I know, and it annoys the crap out of me when I do it to the enemy also.
2-thanks for that, must have missed it in the manual and never noticed it in game. Will lock it as soon as go back in game.
3-I have to entirely disagree with you on this. This is the archaic method that was used back in the early 80's with Sierra's Quest games (king's quest, space quest, police quest, quest for glory etc.). It was simply abandoned because of complexity issues at the time. But in today's world where we have computers that can calculate what will happen to the entire molecular structure of the universe over the next 10 billion years via computer simulation, I don't think it's too far fetched an idea.
4-Yes. I know they are semi-precious stones. In our universe. But in a world where there are dragons and darkspawn and elves and magic and everything else we all love in a roll playing game, it wouldn't take much to string a few letters together and invent some minerals too. ie- Blackspeck- a semi precious stone that has a greenish hugh, but casts black highlights as light reflects off of and refracts through it. it took me exactly 37 seconds to invent that name and description. Maybe Bioware can give me a job?

OOH! Lets rename everything! I mean, its not our universe so they shouldn't even be using our lanuages right? lemme try!
Garblar - The garblar is a piece of sharpened steel three vosterflags in length used for stabbing people
Vestoon - The vestoon is a smaller version of the Garblar, usually only six or eight flaspliet in length. Also used for stabbing people.
Man, bioware should hire me too, this crap is easy!

If I wanted to hear the opinion of an ****hole, I'd fart. Learn how to read. This thread was not started as an opinion piece. If you want to go bash someone's opinion, there's 300 pages of nonsense threads where you can do so. Unless you have anything to say that is ON TOPIC, please leave.

Making a thread dedicated to your opinions is kind of what an pinion piece IS. Most people can explain WHY they have an opinion without cursewords and cliched insults. Welcome to the internets.

Helmets. Give us a toggle for them pronto.
This! I actually played through without putting helms on several of my characters because they were rather horrible, and I -like- seeing the characters' hair. =\\ -Especially- the mage ones. Dear god.

This post is to hear what you guys consider to be those little things that get under your skin. To make it fair ( and because ultimately I am my own devil's advocate), let's also hear those tiny little things that make the game that much more enjoyable as well. I'll start it off with the following:
Excerpt from my original post. Thank you to those of you who have stayed ON TOPIC.
PhoenixKA: I forgot to write that one down. I definitely would like to be able to cue actions.
Toggle helmet visibility: While I hadn't thought of that one, I also have been considering removing my helmets because they are quite ugly.
I was not originally complaining about mineral names. I just got defensive from some negative feedback. Like I said earlier, I've got some personal stuff going on that's got me on edge. What I was complaining about is the general concept of the minerals that were recycled from previous Bioware titles. TBH I just kinda wished they had left them out entirely.

I know you said these are all minor annoyances with you, but that's the only one I don't really understand.
*edit* Oh, and one annoyance I can think of offhand is that many times I'll click on an ability or spell and it doesn't register. Or I switch characters after telling my caster to toss a spell, and his action queue empties without casting.
The lack of a storage chest in the camp is also a minor pet peeve.

I can wholeheartedly agree with this bit. It is indeed annoying to think you`ve just got your dying Wizard out of danger just to watch him drop dead 10 feet away. Now i`ve learned that if one of my characters are dying and the enemy is about to swing his warhammer again, that I might as well give up the character for dead. He isn`t going to escape.
The rest do not bother me. However, auto healing and not sleeping does oh and the crap ingame DLC thing.

i dont want this in the game personally, i think if you are wearing a helmet it should be on your head, ugly or not.
the idea of an invisible helmet is just silly.
i know they let you do it in wow, but still, this isnt wow and its still stupid.
then again i suppose it wouldnt affect my game at all, so whatever.
