This can often be caused by a problem writing to the My
Documents\\Bioware\\Dragon Age\\Settings\\profile.dap file.  Make sure that
the file is writable.  You can also try renaming the file to something
else, and forcing the game to regenerate it, which it will do the next
time you log in.  Achievements are also stored in this file, so you want
to make sure you don't delete the old version until you're sure
everything is working.  If your achievements have been uploaded to the
social site they will be redownloaded to your computer when you log in.

So rename profile.dap and start up DA:O. Log in, and boom fixt.
