I'm getting a little off track but all i'll say is don't jump on the hype train just yet. Maybe in another year or so they'll make a Witcher 2 Enhanced Edition if the next game is a mess as well.

Honestly based on how they have been presenting the Witcher 2 and many , many fan posts about the game it feels like CDproject is more interested in making porn games.
That does also raise some warning bells since many games in the past that ended about being real bad normally just threw in a lot of sex and nudity for the game to sell.
And yes before I get killed and sacrificed by the CDproject fanboys I have played the Witcher 1 and was honestly left very dissappointed by it (and yes I have played RPG's for years and years).
I don´t think Witcher is much about sex and nudity (TW1 wasn´t, for sure). It just seems that way because that´s all that the media care for.
Killing 10000000 of people? Eh we do that in every game since 20 years. BUT BOOOOOBS? AND UNCENSORED SEX?! THE OUTRAGE! BURN THE WITCHE®S!!!!!!!!!

They had to release a whole new "Enhanced" version and charge people again just to get a better experience. If Bioware made an "Enhanced" version of Dragon Age 2 and said "Yeah if you want an updated version you need to buy the game again"
That is just a blatant lie. You only had to pay for the enhanced Edition if you didn´t own the game before. Those possessed the game already could download the enhanced for free.

I already show with link but this camp is a fine example of how cd project care for detail and immersion:
its an huge work the game in the video is like alive.. Kirkwall in dragon age 2 is almost empty and the majority of rpg stands whitout do nothing,,,
I also love the game design and the combat ofcourse dragon age 2 felt like a choppy manga novel.. With all those absurd animation the witcher 2 is stilish and animations are fluid and very good:
Who say cd-project is interested on porn is ignorant..
Look now the combat in dragon age 2 its something ridicolus and hilarious: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fjpuvdq8FJo
And that is a nice example of how felt alive kirkwall
Nice texture but total lack of detail
But if you want to be blind feel free to do so

Are you serious? That isn't a cutscene it's just an instant kill from building up a meter. I don't see you complaing when Fenris does this it's look even worse yet it doesn't matter. And look a knife in the back and no blood at all here either yet no complains that every single character just happens to always have a knife I can understand blood mages carrying them but everyone else? And the Witcher 2 stab does have blood but so what it's just a minor detail and Bioware themselves did the same.
And I don't care about the graphics but that doesn't mean I don't appreciate them. I am playing Witcher 1 right now preparing for Witcher 2 by beating the games to have my saves ready. Same thing I did with Mass Effect 1 and same thing I did with Dragon Age Origins.

Sooo.... does this thread has a sole purpose of rallying all those who dislike the Witcher?
I do not know about that. Speaking for myself, I have no problem with it. I just think the comparisons between it and DA2 are getting old. Maybe discussion will be more interesting once it launches and forumites start discussing the actual game; rather than how it measures up to BioWare stuff.

I had a bit of fun with the 1st game, I'm a bit turned-off by the way they're handling some of the Marketing for TW2.
They're probably talking about the Game less on the Witcher Forums.

Pre-Beta version. Besides, it is still better than the 100000 liters of BLOOOOOD approach of DA2.........

Witcher 1 was amazingly buggy on release (it's largely been fixed). Fallout: New Vegas still doesn't work on my machine. DA2 has some annoying bugs right now, but is largely playable.
I don't know the answers for most of those questions for Witcher 2 or for Skyrim. Neither does anyone.

Anyways, I think the comparisons mostly come from that they are two fantasy RPGs, both are sequels, both are claimed to be "mature games". And of course, the ever popular fact that one developer is going Hollywood while the other developer is the popular "underdog" and saying the right things to appease the more hardcore crowds. Not exactly a unique situation in history I don't think.
While I think DA2 sucked pretty badly, the Witcher 2 has to have a lot of improvements from the first game if I'm to consider it a good game.
