Hi,

just upgraded my DAO to the ultimate edition and I am unable to use the old saved games from my previous game.

I installed the DLC's from the DAO ultimate disk.
I then ran the new game off the disc, it installed a new 1.0.1 patch, then installed the game again.

The DLC's all seem to be availible from the downloaded content area, ie the game sees them as downloaded.
The original saved games are still on the PS3. I can view them from the xmb.
There is a new save DAO game in the saved game area, and it has a different look to the origins.

When the game is that the load screen, load saved games is greyed out.
The PS3 is logged into the PS3 network, and can contact the dragon age servers

I am thinking of removing the game and all dlc's, installing the game without the ultimate dlc pack, see if old game saves are there, then install the DLC's.

Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated.

UPDATE:
spoke to EA support via the chat line, they suggested removing the game and applying the 1.0.3 patch. To which I have done, and still no go, the old saved games are not availible.
It looks like version 1.0.1 is the latest patch for the ultimate version.
I am about 60hrs in on the original :-( and would like to finnish it off with that character.

Just spitballing here, but have you tried starting a new game and loading from in-game? Also, I hear that the saves greyed out situation is sometimes solved by waiting a moment.

no I have not tried loading from a new game, but I will try, that sounds like a good idea.
As for the waiting, I have waited 15 mins for the game to see the old games.

Are you sure you have the same region of games? because mine was converted just fine.

Are you attempting to load a save game that did not have the DLC on it? If so, then you will be unable to play that save game with the DLC. You will need to start a new game.

Yes I had though as much, but there is always a upside to problems, started playing the game again when I first encountered the problem and discovered that I am enjoying it more than the first run through.
I had not finnished the original game and was about 60hrs in, if I did not have this issue i may never had played it again but as it is i am really enjoying the time playing DAO, so all is good.

Thanks to the helpful replys, but as it turns out I was trying to load a saved game DAO ultimate even without any DLC loaded and it did not work, I am assuming now that it assums that the ultimate has dlc etc.

The upside is that with the wardens keep and other parts and the fact that I don't have to go through the steep learning curve, means I am picking up what I missed on the first time enjoying this more the second time around.

That's very odd, I went from a PAL standard DA:O to a DA: O Ultimate bought in the UK and the saves transfered just fine.
