So I'm looking at playing Risen Hero now. Since I'll be starting a new character what do you think would be a good race/class combo gameplay and story-wise. Thanks.

I played a Ranger/Rogue. Bard should be good too. You can use your companions' skills at some points, but something with stealth and conversation skills is a safe bet. Wyrin's foraging system is implemented too, but you can use companions for that.
I guess Shaugn can give you a better answer.

I wouldn't use an ECL race. It was difficult enough early on.

I tried to make it so most any class can play the game. As kamal said an ECL race will increase the difficulty and be at a bit of a disadvantage. I haven't received any reports of classes that couldn't complete the game other than my play testing extremes.
You are offered a number of companions and they are spread out through the campaign.
The healer type companion is likely the least under represented, a cleric is offered towards the end of the game. I have provided caches of healing kits/potions to compensate for that, as well as a bard and ranger companion with healing spells.
To access all aspect of game play at least one conversation skill should be developed. I do not use the SOZ party chat. On rare occasions party members may chime in and help, some also can hinder.
For my play testing I used a favored soul, fighter/wizard, duelist and a ranger (stealth specialist). My deep gnome ninja made it pretty far, but was eventual slaughtered and was unable to complete the game --see below--. (she also skipped all the optional quest)

Spoilers:
-Several players have commented that they like how their warlock fit into the overall story.
-The end game has three paths. 2 of which you can rely on your companions to help you. The third is a stealth path, to go that way you must have decent hide and move silent skills.

Alright. I'll see what inspires me then.
Another question: if I want to use Kaedrin's latest version, can I delete your version from the RH override or did you customize some files?

Can't you use companions for stealth? I played a stealthy character so I did it myself, but I seem to remember a companion offering to do that.Shaughn78 wrote...

And yes, Warlock should be a good RP class here. I need to replay this module, since I missed a couple things, so I may try one then.
E.C.: Shaughn can tell you better, but AFAIK, you have to use the K's version included in the module.

Also (correct me if I'm wrong), I believe sometimes you can use only a specific conversation skill, so maxing more than one might be useful.

EC, due to the level of custom content you will need to use the included kaedrin. It currently is using vs 1.41.1.
If you are interested I can update to 1.41.2. I should be able to do that today/tomorrow, just let me know.

The override folder said 1.40.3. No problem then if it's actually 1.41.1. No need to update.
I finally decided to play a male dwarven scout BTW.
