And the Force Mage spec makes the mage a Jedi.
It's convenient that there is a hair selection that looks a lot like Anakin and Obi-wan's.

Yeah its kinda blood magic. You can be a blood mage without having a demonic spirit in you.

Spirit Healers, universally, MUST make a pact with a fade spirit to power their spells, however. From the Elven point of view, one fade spirit is as good or bad as another, demons and spirits are one in the same, more reasons why Merrill sees no distinction, good or bad, between herself and Anders' pacts.
Interesting note, Merrill's particular brand of blood magic has no function to harm allies, unlike the PC version, and using that spell is a choice.
Reaver is similar. Becoming a Reaver is similar to becoming a Warden, honestly. There is a ritual, aided with either lyrium or blood magic, to empower it, where you take in the blood of a powerful entity, either the Darkspawn, or a Dragon. The powers granted can be used for good or evil. So can getting really angry and running a sword through someone, or the abuse of lyrium dust to gain the power to blow up someone who has a connection to the fade.
In DA 1 Reaver was only frowned upon because the only way you could get it was by committing an atrocity, but that was a task given to you by a madman, not a demon, in order to teach you the skills.

I was surprised, the description makes it sound like the Reaver goes all Hannibal Lecter on the enemy, but he actually just touches them with his hand.
Made me LOL xD

Rumor has it that Reavers Sparkle a little when they use Devour.
OMG, I caught Twilight for the first time this week, and couldn't believe THAT was the big, stupid deal with the vampires. Oh noes, they sparkle. I also can't believe I sat there through that piece of crap.

I DON'T SPARKLE, I GLOW!
Besides, how can you tell if a reaver is sparkling if he's covered in 15 gallons of the enemies' blood?

The funny thing about Blood magic is: It's frowned upon because you "make a deal with a demon to learn it." Well, sure, maybe alot of circle magi or hicks learn it like that. But I'd wager alot of Tevinter Magisters just learn it from their master, so is it really all that bad, if you learn it from a human? Sure they still steal life to power some spells, but most if not all spells are self powering.

Excellent post! What a dichotomy huh? *Laughs* It is the hubris of man that makes something evil or not. Consider the fact that Anders took in Justice and gave back Vengeance.
