I've pushed the release of "Shagret" back from the start of June until the end of the month. Some personal things have come up--the good kind, let me assure you<3--and it just means I don't have as much time in front of a computer as I did before.

More to the point, "Shagret" is somewhat nearing the stage of beta testing(a month or so away). So, I'd be interested in knowing if there are any community members interested in giving it a run when it becomes available. I'm only looking for a few, maybe 5, people to give a test when the time comes. The more thorough you can explain issues to me, the better. as I do sincerely take to heart any comments people provide. If you think you will have time then, let me know and I'll send you a download link when it becomes available.

Thank you for your patience. I cannot promise perfection, or even guaranteed excellence, but I can promise you it will be different, and I suppose that's what is important.

Just the five testers then :)

What play length do you have at the moment?

I would be interested in giving this a go as a beta tester.

Thank you. I'll send you guys a message in a month or so.

And, PJ, that's hard to answer. I have several distinct ways to play the mod, and the paths never cross. There is a path that most people will end up taking, and I'd say it provides at least 10 hours. However, with it being impossible to see everything on one play through, I suspect I have much more time than that. I'm being conservative in my estimates, however, as I happen to play games quickly.

I recently updated my blog with some screenshots of progress and discussing the delay(however obtusely). Here are the pictures.

Consider my hat tentatively thrown in as an alternate. I imagine you would be better off with playtesters who have both more time available and actual toolset experience. If you don't manage to get your five though, I can help out as much as time allows.

Nice pictures CW and very nice writing for the description of the deer god. Perhaps when you are done with Shagret you could write me a few lines, if you have time that is :)

10 hours is a big investment for playtesting. I don't want to promise and then fail to deliver.

I hope you get your five people, if you don't PM me when the time is right and I can see how I am fixed for time then.

If you don't need me then good luck with the last push.

Same as Quixal and PJ. Maybe I could help, but I can't tell for sure by now, so I won't promise anything. If you want, let me know when the time comes, and I'll give you a more definitive answer.

Nice screenshots.

Thank you all for the replies. I don't necessarily mean "five only", but I guess I wanted dedicated people. Everyone in this thread is that kind of person, so I'm happy. :)

In case anyone was curious as to why the UI elements in the second screenshot were so different--borders, lack of character icons, etc--it's because "Shagret" has some Flashbacks in it where you play as other characters. In the mentioned section, you play as Frurar, the Deer God, before he was a God. I hope people like these small scenes, as considerable scripting went into learning how (re)make certain parts of the game.

Did you do that by scripting the PC's appearance to be that of a stag and then modifying inventory/attributes appropriately?

Nope. I could do it that way, but I added a companion of a deer and then force the PC into possessing that companion. Why? The player cannot use emotes of their class--no weird sound effects--and any other abilities they might be able to access.

Still, this was why I had a full list of UI elements on hand when you asked for them. :P

Sounds good, but I hope the deer god never finds out how many deer I killed in Last of the Danaan. He would not be pleased...

A priest, a god, and a deer god walk into a bar.

The priest comes in late and doesn't notice the other two. As he's about to start his beer, he wants to pray for a blessing.

"Dear god", he begins.

"Hey that's not really necessary. My name is Chip", says the deer god.

"What?" says the priest. "Don't interrupt, you. I'm praying."

"Dear god" he begins again.

"Look you can call me that if you want, but you don't have to pray; I'm right here."  says the deer god.

"Silence you! This is sacrilege, to interrupt my prayers so." shouts the priest angrily. "I'm not talking to you."

deer god: "Well who are you talking to?"

priest: "That's none of your business, by god!"

god: "Hi!"

priest: "No you... Everyone be quiet! I've lost my concentration. Let me begin again. Dear God..."

deer god: "Right here..."

priest: "Still not talking abou you, GOD!"

god: "Hi!"

priest: "Not you either, what I meant was ... oh nevermind!"
