I'll try that, then, at some point. I want a heal spell on him, Merrill doesn't have that, so what would I do exactly?

Heal is 306020... oh, and if you add full ability trees, keep in mind that if you have more than 12 total, there will be problems with the user interface. Or something... And if you add the full Creation tree, you need 306000 (tree) and 306001 (allows you to spend points in the tree). You can make some wild characters with even these basic tools... gotta love it.

On page 1, Icy details a method he used to get Charade or Flemeth onto the screen. Use this same method, by copying a character from your save file's SAVEGAME_PARTYPOOLMEMBERS, and then pasting it, making all the necessary changes Icy outlines to OBJECT_ID, OBJECT_NAME, and of course Appearance. However, make the templateresref "gen00fl_justice" instead of trying to match it to a specific creature's templateresref.
Doing this adds a character onto the select screen in front of and slightly to the right of Hawke. If you do everything Icy outlined, the character will be independent of all the others, and essentially be a new character. Inventory and leveling up both work, and the character will be able to use the typical party member moves and specializations, including the staff twirl (having a Ketojan do that was actually pretty cool). I was thrilled he even had movement on the party picker. Everything also worked alright with Charade as well by changing the name and appearance, and making her a Rogue.
So far, the character has no dialogue, and clicking on him/her while in the field just does nothing. If you're looking to do this with a Saarebas though, at least for role-playing purposes you can convince yourself that since his lips are sewn shut, he's behaving perfectly normal. [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/whistling.png[/smilie]
Now I know this isn't like adding the exact character permanently into the game. Unfortunately, I don't think that will ever be fully possible without a real toolset to use. Still, I hope it's at least something people will enjoy in that they do technically have a new party member.
Hopefully I can try and have a full tutorial written up tomorrow.
I am currently experimenting with other ways to try and add another party member, but right now it seems only possible to fenagle 1 additional party member. Not that I'm about to give up trying!
Thanks everyone for the continued and assistance and support on here!
Here's a pic below. I apologize for the horrible quality, but I am on Xbox and don't have a way to screegrab from it, so I had to take a picture. Also, I don't know how to embed an image. And yes, I do have Bethany and Carver on there, but Bethany was highlighted at the time of the photo.

Heck, I'll try this tonight, with Ketojan. xD
EDIT: Guess what?! It works for me!
ROCK ARMOUR LOOKS AWESOME ON HIM.

LOL yeah, he's big, but that doesn't matter.
Bethany: Grrrrrr, move, Ketojan.

I'm not sure where specifically to look for his model and face morph - I got them from a series of files someone posted a while back. Here they are below though for you.madsabroo wrote...
If I want to add Orsino, how do I find the code for his model/morph?

I'm pretty sure I followed the directions exactly, and I'm getting an error/freeze every time I try to save the edited game.
I encountered this same issue originally. Are you using the latest version of the pyGFF Editor? For some reason, using version 0.5.2 kept making it crash, but then I found version 0.5.5 and it all worked perfectly.

Thanks for the help.
I'll try updating to the newest version. I bet that's my problem. Thanks for the quick response!
Edit: Updated and it's still crashing. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.

Thanks for the help. With the model number, do I use that for the APPEARANCE_TYPE where generic elf male would usually go? I was hoping I could equip as I liked, and wanted to use the generic elf appearance.

For the model, update the APPEARANCE_TYPE and the ORIGINAL_TYPE.
Also, I updated the front page with a complete tutorial. Check it out and let me know at what part you're having an issue at. Oh, and is it the pyGFF Editor that's crashing, or is the game crashing (and if so, at what part)?

Weird! I got the error message when I saved in pyGFF but when I loaded up the save in game it worked! Thank you so much, now I get to run around town with my favorite NPC.

Not sure how that ended up working, but either way, fantastic news that it did!! The action shot with Orsino and Anders is especially cool. Thanks!

I'm not sure if this isn't already known, but I noticed something interesting when trying this but I'm not sure what I did special or if it's special at all.
What I did was (after following the tutorial and getting a new follower):
- set the follower's appearance to a PC appearance (15 for male, 16 for female)
- remove all copied equipment
This starts the character naked with the "basic" weapons for their class, but you can then outfit them with otherwise Hawke-only equipment. (Like I said, I'm not sure which does the trick.)

I dunno how that happened...his class now says Warrior. oO; How do I fix it?
EDIT: I think I know what I did. xD

As for what you did, I remember reading about it in another thread a month ago people doing that to make it so party members could be turned into editable characters. It was a neat trick that seemed useful. Also lets people in a way make their own secondary character if they wanted to. I didn't think to apply it to this lol.
It could give people the chance to make the sibling they always wanted

I haven't had that happen to me yet. You say you know what caused it though?
The one slightly surprising thing I noticed is that after you save over the edited save file, the game assigns a number to the OBJECT_NAME that becomes permanent instead of the string name when first making the character.

As in it converts the name to code?

Ahhh ok, that explains it. It also sometimes happens if you give them multiple classes.
As for what I meant, yes, when I go back into the save file after having saved over it, the string for his name is gone, and some brand new number is in the OBJECT_NAME field instead. Not sure why or how it does that, but hey, it still works.

With the Black Emporium and morph saving from savegames (PC only, unfortunately), players could make a legion of editable characters that are either mute or have someone else's voice. ;p
Side note: The Justice companion resource used in this tutorial seems to have Anders's soundset, if that wasn't already known. I was playing in a save before meeting Anders and suddenly got "I'll show you why mages are feared!"

That would be awesome to have a legion. Right now I can only any multiples to occupy the same space is the one issue, but I am trying to find a solution.
As for the sudden soundset, really?! I'll admit though I've only played through Act 2 and 3, so I always had Anders in the party. That would make sense though and explain why it's there in the game. Thanks for finding that out though, I'll make a note of it in the tutorial!
There's also a gen00fl_dog that occupies the same space if attempted, but I haven't tested its animations.
