I'm trying to access the console commands in order to fix the bugged Isabela quest (she appears in your house, but wont initiate the dialogue with you), but I can't get it working! I definately have the console going - i press ` and stop being able to move until I press enter; but none of the runscript commands do anything. Did 1.02 disable these commands or something, or is there some extra step I need to take? Thanks for any insight.

If you say that activating the console makes the game nonresponsive then it is not a problem of setting it up. Nothing has been changed in its functionality in 1.02.

It is most likely an error in your typing. Make sure that caps is off you don't use any capital letters or typing in another language.

Also what command did you try? try something more simple like "runscript addxp 999999"

Worked it out - its my keyboard is set to English-extended. Grav is a dead key and tries to put a grav accent on the next letter typed, if it fails it types a ` so no matter what i typed, I was invisibly getting `runscript :P
Just had to change my keyboard back to normal english, and it worked.

another option is to change the bound key to something else.. If you look at Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age 2\\Settings\\KeyBindings.ini you can change OpenConsole to something else. e.g.
OpenConsole_0=Keyboard::Button_F11

They probably changed the key binding in 1.02. Mine worked prior to it, but afterwards I had to change the binding as detailed by Signo Vir above. Works fine now.

Have some sort of a related problem...

I can open the console, it runs scripts like "runscript zz_upgrade" just fine, but will not do anything with "runscript zz_app_debug" or "runscript zz_isa_debug".

Anyone an idea?

sadly, some of the scripts are just black holes. There is, I suspect, an overlay layer (maybe multiple overlays) not being displayed, which is why we can't see the commands we type in console, and probably the same reason you can't see any feedback from some scripts.
