Like many other people, I'm sure, I flagged the Last Straw quest from my writing desk without realizing that it would prevent me from finishing all the side-quests.

I know I could just restart Act III, but I had finished almost EVERYTHING and really dont want to do it a third time (already redid half of it after 1.02 came out)

I tried using the zz_dae_debug console script, but it doesn't look like there's a way in there to un-flag it.

There's also the gffeditor. Anyone have any idea how I might un-flag the quest so that I could go to the gallows and finish other quests? (or teleport to the gallows without triggering that CS)

I know there's probably no solution to this, but it's pretty dang infuriating. More so than the bugs that 1.02 fixed, like the A New Path bug. There was no warning that marking Orsino's letter as "read" would trigger endgame. Irritating.

I was in the exact same situation. Was unable to complete Herbalist's tasks and Aveline's personal quest (although the latter can sorta be completed through the console).

It's just something for us to watch out for during the next playthrough. Orsino (or Meredith's?) letter is a point of no return.

It's just really inconsistent design... even at other points where there's a sense of urgency in a quest, it never compels you to complete it right away. Same with most other Bioware games... there's almost never a "timer" counting down with limited time, you can just keep plugging away at other game content even if plot-wise there's an immediacy, an urgency.

They could easily have set this up so that you are told of the situation as you enter the zone, then can see Orsino and Meridith arguing but the conversation doesn't begin until you click on one of them. Sure, that's slightly less cinematic, but not by much.

SDadly zz_dae_debug does not seem to work. If anybody knows what to do with the gffeditor I'd be really grateful.

How did you do that? When I select companion quests in the zz_dae_debug menu, it just reloads that wheel, without going furthter and letting me choose the companion etc.
