We probably all have differing terms as to what makes a romance subplot cute, romantic, or sexy. Below is my personal list of ME2 romances categorized based on my own opinion and experience:

Cutest:  Tali
Sexiest:  Miranda
Most Romantic:  Thane

Note that this isn't an evaluation of the characters themselves, but their respective romances. That is to say, this isn't about the characters, only the romances linked to them. Additionally, it's probably worth mentioning that the only ME2 romances I've personally tried in my game are Miranda's and Thane's, but I have seen the others on YouTube -- all of them, so I believe I have a pretty good idea about them.

Let's see what you all think.

How do you define cute? Tali was puppy love on sugar, but had some disturbing undertones of fan-worship and taking advantage of the young.

Romancing Jacob's abs was the sexiest for anyone who likes abs, and the guy behind them was actually stable, sane, and going to live for awhile.

Ashley Williams wins for poetry, personality, and even the right amount of flaws. I thought Captain, O Captain, was pretty romantic in its context.

I was torn on Garrus' being a mixture of cute and funny; I almost added it in place of Tali's in the OP. I think "funniest" describes it best, though! :D

EDIT:  Dean, since this is only about the ME2 romances, I didn't include Ashley, otherwise I would have. And I did in fact find Tali's romance to be especially sweet!

Cutest: Tali (I really don't think that there's any doubt about that, Tali's cute as a button).
Sexiest: Jacob
Most Romantic: Thane (the angst in that last scene was so thick it could be cut with a knife, but the other stuff was quite romantic)
Most Dramatic: Jack
Most Adorkable: Garrus :P

I'm jealous that the Jacob romancers get that seemingly bittersweet kiss from him after the suicide mission. He's the only love interest who does that sort of thing with you post-ending. I guess the prize was serious business, after all.

Yes, that's the perfect way to group them. Bioware characters are very archetypal, and you can especially see that in the tones of their romances.

Must be the dextro, eh?

But bah, bah I say. Ashley's greatness as a plausible human being eclipses them all.

Call me weird, but I've only ever been able to go through with one romance in ME2 and that's Miranda. Even when I set out at the start and say: "This time I'll go with Jack!" I end up with Miranda :S.

Hell, I'm having a hard enough time trying to 'stay' with Ashley on the one playthrough that I didn't sac her and romanced her, as I find it really hard to just say 'ok, you're forgiven' after her Horizon rant.

I'm going to expand this beyond ME2, because everyone's described and categorized all the ME2 romances perfectly already.

Cutest:  Garrus
Sexiest:  Liara
Most Romantic: ME1 Kaidan

At first I didn't find Liara that interesting, but after LotSB I found her quite sexy. As much as I adore the characters, I don't consider the in-game component of any of the romances particularly sexy.

Garrus is so cute it hurts. Supportive waist. Cheesy music. Just want something to go right.

Kaidan felt like a classic romance. The moment when he pulls Shepard up from the floor in front of the lockers? Gets me every time.

Cute: I don't know, what is "cute"? When I think cute I think of a kitten. When it comes to relationships I'm not interested in kittens.

Sexy: Tali, easy. "I promise..." Makes me blush.

Tragic: I don't know, Liara? Mainly because I don't return her affections.

Garrus' stumbling is cute and not at all kitten-like. Stumbling can describe kittens often, however, so it's important to note the separate connotations. It's easy to keep track of these things so long as you don't begin associating Garrus with balls of yarn.
