How useful is the Character Creator? Will it enhance the game much in terms of character creation?

It's basically the in-game CC as a stand alone application.  They released it prior to the DA:O launch so people could have characters ready to go.

It might very well be my imagination, but I think the lighting is a bit different in the stand alone CC.  I still use it from time to time.

Oh cool.  I  won't bother with it then.  I think I may be confusing it with some of the mods because I had the impression from posts I'd read that it was some sort of superior version of the character creator - I must have confused it with something else!

Is it still possible to download the character creator? I ask because I recently had my laptops hard drive replaced and I never got far in the game but I want to get through it with the characters I created before I move onto DA2. Yes I do realize that I do not need to play DAO before DA2 but I figured I should. Much appreciated.
