Try installing the latest DirectX Runtime update. This should replace any missing files. Its available here: www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx.

I have yet to see a real answer from BioWare on why some of us are still getting the message that our password is incorrect after the intial authentication screen and accepting the ToS. I know my login info is good since it works on the site and if I put in the wrong info intentionally into the intitial login screen it pops up right away (before he ToS & secondary incorrect password screen) saying that my info is incorrect. This is a bad sign if the producer is marketing these features with a bonus that they are going to have trouble over since a last minute function is not apparently ready for the masses yet... would someone from BioWare please respond with a real status and hopefully a real solution so that those of us that can't get it working don't get screwed out of the bouns item??? Thanks!

Excellent! Because I chose to play games on console rather than PC and my PC isn't up to specs because of that, I miss out on the goodies. Good one. Why didn't this come as a console DLC as well? Hope the game doesn't disappoint like this...

I like this character creator is pretty good. You can make quite varied character and you are much better able to see your character from various angles so you know how they will look before you begin.

Downloaded and created this masterpiece. Question though: my account for this site uses a different email, will i be able to put in different sign in info into the xbox version then the email i use to sign on to xbox live? or do i have to create a new account on here based on my xbox live user name, password and email?

I have tried installing this on several computers, all give me some error when i try to start it up. Is it against a ToS or something to ask someone who can get it running to log in as "me" and upload a character? I really want this ring, but can't run it on any of my PCs ( or 2 friends PCs either).

Very good, downloaded it yesterday and created 2 different characters. Most exciting! Can't wait for 9:30am tomorrow when I will pick up the game!!

It only took me about 5 mins to download the DAO Character Creator, 1 to 2 mb/s.

Just curious but are we able to transfer the character we created to our xbox 360 so we can use it?and if so how do you do it? I treid to look for it but can't find it.

Do I need to have the CC installed to transfer characters created in it to the full game, or can the full game pull the characters that were uploaded to the web? I just built a new PC and never bothered to reinstall the CC that I had on my old PC, and I don't see a way to download these CC-created characters into the full game if that's at all possible.

No you dont have to. Anyway, if u did create in CC, there's transfer option in the Main Game but people are getting problems with it. Look at the other sticky thread on technical issues to find out.

The benifit is, if you've not uploaded a character with the Creator before, you get access to the "Lucky Stone" ring as a DLC item the first time you do it, that ring is +1 to all stats. Basically you just need to upload some character with it once, to gain it on your account. Other than that..none really, given how borked it is. As for the transfer option, when you start a new game there will be an "Import from Character Creator" option, but they don't come out all that right when being imported in..I keep hoping it'll be patched..but..I would just play with it, and if you DO make a chracter using it, write down or screenshot all your settings, so you can reliably rebuild them. Edit:

And..it's patched. Looks like that takes care of that. The only problems I can now see is that tattoo intensity still gets reset (though the CC may just not be saving that value correctly, and it also may only do it on characters with no tattoos (such as mine) where it'd be irrelevant anyway. That and it still does show my import as "Dwarven Noble" as opposed to "Human Noble" but once the game's going, that fixes iself, so it's really just a text bug.

I'll give this a try.. my game is already underway but that +1 ring to all stats would be a great addition to my inventory.. now, just have to find a new backpack to carry all these damn items.. lol..
