curse you darn americans! spare a thought for your poor english cousins who have to wait till the 6th!
that said, as long time loyal customer of a local indie game store where they all know me by name I should be able to get my hands on my copy on the 5th possibly even the 4th depending on when they have their delivery.

However this thread has reminded me of the time i found legendary for sale in blockbusters a WEEK before release so i'm heading there now.

Wish me luck ;)

If you have any luck im heading there aswell.

I can't think of any places in England nearby which would sell games early. Damn.

Canadian Walmarts? I think that's where Bigfoot was last sighted.

So, my wife and I went to best buy last night. Just out of curiosity, I asked the fella there if they had Dragon Age. In typical Retail Store fashion, he didn't know and had to go check. When he finally came back he said "looks like the game isn't due out until Nov 3rd". I said: "Ah. Who do I have to bribe to get it early?" He said "Not me..." and walked off. After that my wife's face scrunched up and she said: "Wait here..." She then went to a manager and used her womanly wiles (She's not un-hot). She got the manager to go in the back and get the game for her. She then got the manager to at least CONSIDER selling it. The part the manager kept getting hung up on was the fact that the store would be fined $10,000 if they were caught selling the game early. Personally, I didn't care and I told him that wasn't enough to keep me from my sweet, sweet game. He, on the other hand, thought it was. I feel if I had left the situation alone, my wife could probably have convinced him it was a paltry amount.

Oh well. I tried. :D

Your intimidate and persuade skills weren't high level enough, your wife got past the first persuade option but you messed up the second one and made the level 26 Manager hostile.

Yeah. I'm more combat oriented. That's why my wife married me I think. "Aww look at this awkward dip. I should totally marry him so I can help him get past persuade checks."
On our way home she told me "Next time, don't talk. You could probably have the game by now."

You need 38 strength for any of the pieces, and you start with the chest piece but have to buy the rest of the pieces from a merchant in the game....who is right next to the guy asking to go to Warden's Keep...who has downloading the extra content as a dialogue choice.

Dual core 3gig processors
4gigs of ram
geforce 8600gt
vista 64bit

Its running on medium settings but still looks awesome. No slowdown whatsoever. Though looking at my performance meter, its using 100 percent of my processing power, and 75 percent of my ram.

Interesting, thanks for the feedback Envgard. I might pick up an extra gig of RAM next week.

We have the game in stock at the store I work at. I held it in my hands yesterday... but we can't sell it until the 3rd. Still, I had fun for a few minutes looking at the back, reading everything about five times.

Anyone seen a copy of the PS3 game in Canada yet? All of the websites still have it listed as the 17th.

Just to clear up some confusion, the picture of the case with the EA sleeve and such is a Euro copy of the game. In Europe many copies have two disks - one is the main game and the other has the localization files for that particular country (i.e. language and such). In the US the game is on a single dual-layer disk.

I haven't heard much about the manual, though a veteran reviewer on another site mentioned that he thought it was pretty good but did lack a few things he would have liked to have seen. It's not going to be BG2 sized, but should be comparable to other recent RPG manuals.
