Jade Empire is infinitely better than DA2.

And to the ignorant masses, Jade Empire was marketed as an "Oriental Themed RPG" what with the martial arts, demon faces and general artwork style. I never dwelled and was always under the impression it was a mixture of RTS-RPG a la Shogun Total War for example.
I took a little time to discover it and it's a pure gem, as much a Bioware classic as anything from that era.
Now where's my trumpet, I gots to sing me Dixie...

It is downloadable from Live. The disc version works too, if you have access to one.sympathy4saren wrote...

Let me rephrase. I strongly dislike and feel disconnected to all things Oriental/Japanese themed. Giant tentacles, schoolgirls, deep sense of duty, slanted eyes, call me a Confederate boy, I just never got it and at my old age, probably never will.
However, the strong story and high adventure present in Jade Empire, transcends all of that. It's plain great RPG storytelling, a solid 8/10 (DA2 is a lenient 5/10, for the lores' sake.) and shows how much you can do with dated graphics, few options and a fantastic and dedicated writing team on board. Hell, it even has 1942 style mini game seamlessly blended into the action!
I'm still shocked at how good it felt to actually visit new environments for new quests, DA2 had me in permafear of future RPG's just playing out in one 2X2 bland grid with a "Level Name" changing on the bottom right hand corner of the screen.
Get the hell off of the forums. I'm probably the most obsessive Jade fan here and I don't want racist scum like you making themselves the voices of the Jade fan community.

Being from Southern Europe still counts as the South, y'know?

For someone who claims "old age" you act like a bratty three year old.
I hope that no one else gives you what you came here for - and that they simply report you instead.

Can we all agree that Jade Empire is a great RPG and a great way to spend some money on Bioware?
The fact that this opinion comes from a person with a bias against Oriental culture only goes to show HOW GOOD IT IS.
Learn how to have a debate instead of screaming to mummy every time "THE BLACK SHIRTS" show up. Sheesh.
