Where does it rank in all other BioWare games of all time? How does it compare with Baldur's Gate 2?

DA2 is pretty bad, if you're ranking it with BioWare games (not so bad if you just pick today's average fare). It's so full of unrealized potential that it just makes you sad. Get it, and enjoy it, but expect to catch glimpses of what could have been great ideas but for being squandered on a game that took five days to make.

Hmm I don't want to go back through every Bioware title but from ones that immediatley spring to mind...

Decending from my personal favorites to worst. Now bare in mind some I haven't played in while so might be big scewed because going off memory of what was like. But in general it's not too far off for me.

It is, in my opinion, bad.
When I started to play it this is pretty much how it unfolded:

Compared to all other Bioware games yes, it is definitely an inferior product and its not up to BW's usual quality. Overall, its a very mediocre game.

BW has been corrupted by greed and EA.

Ok thanks for the heads up, didn't remember what logo popped up when loaded the game back then. I'll fix my original post.

Nope not anymore with the 1.02 patch everything is running smooth and the graphics and gameplay is very similar to DAO just no top view camera.

@OP (assuming OP isn't just a troll): It's not nearly as bad as everyone makes it out to be. It's still better than most other games out there. It's a city campaign, so the story is somewhat restricted. A lot of people consider that a failing, but that's really the entire point of the game. It's still a good story, and it really does follow from Dragon Age: Origins, despite all the claims of plot holes and abandonment of the first story.
The companions are interesting and well-written. They're as good as any other companions that BioWare has ever written. Their personal goals and quirks are still just as annoying as they were in every other game.
The lore is in the game, but it's less obvious and takes more effort to find. There isn't any spoon-feeding of the story, and the game assumes you know the history from the first game, so there is less opportunity to stop and ask NPCs basic stuff that you should already know and the detail goes right into the journal instead of having a stilted, slightly insane conversation.
However, the game's detractors are very loud and it gets very tiring to be called a fanboy for not caring about certain things because you were too busy enjoying others.
