 I was just thinking it would be cool if we could have a live chat room. That way we could actually discuss things with other people that are online. What does everyone else think? I think it would make the social site more social

I was looking for that during the warden's quest. The general facebook chatwindow worked fine, but using facebook for communicating with the players was REALLY awkward.



I've been looking around and there seems to be a fanmade irc channel on #dragonage at irc.replayirc.com. I guess you could go hype each other up there. I'll be lurking there as well for a bit.

Really? I mean, with the way forums are these days, do you really think we need ALL of the forumites talking at once? I mean, if you do, great. But to me ...I'm sure my head would explode.

TBH I thought for sure when I originally signed up for the Social Site that it was going to have a chatroom or several chatrooms for people to smoke out of hookahs and chase the dragon. Get it?! Chase the Dragon--->Dragon Age?? Nyehehehe Pea+Tear+Griffin ya Petuhgriffin

A chat room would be nice but it brings up certain issues. I help run another forum that has chat rooms and it does come with it's share of headaches.

Openfire...free simple to set up chat server...takes about 15 minutes to get the whole thing running...did i mention free.

I used to frequent chat rooms all the time..not as much time anymore..with forums I can come and go as needed..in chat thats harder or you lose the flow of conversation..I still wouldn't mind popping in one though if it was there.

 I think it'd be an ok idea for the social site here, though I agree that it can get rather... ugly. I'd be up for one on the site regardless.

Chat rooms are too insane with a lot of people. I used to go to chat rooms a lot as a teenager and even did a fair share of chat room role playing. Its too hard to keep a good conversation with everyone trying to talk and post at once.
