Unless of course, they want to demonstrate my suspicions that they only
lock the negative threads, or ones with personal insults, and this no
"necro" rule was just a weak excuse to quell some of the harsh
criticism.

Hahaha!  nice pic.

Though I don't see where you've inferred an overly serious tone from my post, particularly compared to what else is on this forum.  If anything, I'm just baiting Bioware and the moderators here, but perhaps you missed that or didn't quite see it.

In fact I've seen a lot of jokes on this forum, and have admittedly cracked some very bad ones myself, and wouldn't have it any other way.

However, the biggest joke is the way Bioware seems to be treating their DA series, and the business strategies surrounding it.

It's your loss Bioware, if you try to ignore some of the more 'harsh' criticism, you are simply just ignoring some very honest feedback.  It's to your own detriment to ignore the fact that a significant part of the consumer base is disgusted with your overall direction and emphasis in DA.

I could pit my Hawkes against my Wardens it wouldn't be very fair, 14 Wardens against 2 Hawkes would be over very quickly. Although my Hawkes look suspiciously like Morrigan so there is a possibility they would charm my Wardens into lowering their guards...

As much as I want to see my Warden make a return (not just talked about) I'm not convinced it would make sense from a narrative perspective. They seem to have hinted that the Warden simply disappeared after Witch Hunt, which I'm fine with I'd rather think most of them ran away with Morrigan or took down a mountain of Darkspawn in the Deep Roads. I would have liked DA2 better if it had managed to continue the Warden's story. Doing that through a framed narrative would be a nightmare though.

Actually, what I would like to see is them working together, only... not.

Kind of like the final battle in DAO, where you played through a couple of battles and then switched back to the city gates to take control of the team you had left behind.

So you have Warden & Co. doing a quest or three, then switch to Hawke & Co. doing a quest or three - which seem unrelated, but in reality both groups are pursuing different threads to what ends up bringing them all together for the final confrontation/resolution.

Those who do not wish to import an existing Warden could create a new one. Those who do want to use a HoF could import a save and then re-create the appearance on the new engine (they could not look exactly the same, but I personally don't have a problem with that). I would give the HoF maybe 5 additional attribute points and a couple of extra talents or spells during creation so s/he could start out being a bit more awesome.

Of course, in order for me to be happy playing either character again, I would want their LIs to be along for the ride. For the Warden, you would really only need Leliana and Zevran (those who romanced Alistair or Morrigan had different endings). For Hawke, we would be looking at continuing all 4 potential LIs.

I doubt they would ever do this because of the volume of companions that would need to be implemented - you would need 2 complete teams.

I do think it could be pretty awesome, though.

Yes I would like that, at least the Daelish Warden, of course my Daelish Warden can't exist in the DAII world.

Oh God no, it was a rhetorical question.

Hello everyone,

I've thought to myself on many occassion about how DA3 would be cool to have Hawke and the Warden on the same team. But when I completed Witch Hunt yesterday, my idea changed completely.

Because I chose to be with only Morrigan throughout Origins, my Warden was a bag of nerves when he was finally reunited with Morrigan in WH. Then the moment they went through the mirror together, I suddenly had Mark Anthony an Cleopatra in my head.

Not the whole story of course, but how there love would be the end of them. And when I started DA2 again and met Flemeth, thats when I stopped wanting Hawke an Warden on the same team, but instead have Hawke and Flemeth chasing down the Warden an Morrigan.

Groovy stuff, even if this story happens in my head and not made into a DA story.

I imagine Morrigan would have some choice words for Hawke regarding what happened at Sundermount...

Perhaps Flemeth would try to conscript Hawke to her plans, and I can imagine if Merrill is a love interest, she might be interested in the fact that The Warden and Morrigan went into an Eluvian together. The question is, what's Flemeth planning? What destiny is Morrigan preparing her son for? Is this tied to Sandal's prophecy, or perhaps the "Stone" comment made by the Nexus Golem?

I keep thinking that the Daelish Warden would have some choice words for the murderer of his entire Clan. Bonafied Drama right there.

Why do people use in-game stats to judge whose stronger out of the Warden and Hawke?

I judge it by what feats they accomplish, how they fight in cutscenes, who they have defeated, what armor and weapons they use etc.

Just cause you have a level 35 Warden doesn't mean it equals more or less than a level 20 Hawke and just because the combat in DA 2 is faster and you have AOE spells doesn't really matter...

EDIT: The Warden would still win without  a doubt though, mind you it wouldn't be a walk in the park, he might get a few scratches or have some difficulty taking Hawke down.

The OP got me thinking about the BG:TOB, where you had a nominally good Bhaalspawn (Balthazar) at odds with the protagonist at one point. I remember thinking at the time that that was a very interesting twist, and I would have liked to have seen more done with it. What if Hawke and the Warden *were* both "doing the right thing" (as they each saw it) but at odds? That could be quite fun -- particularly in chapter format (e.g. play the Warden for a chapter, then play Hawke, then the player picks either one for the final chapter with the other being the "enemy"... probably too hard to do from a testing point of view in the last chapter, but it would force some tough decisions on the player's part).

no reason to have a warden-hawke rundown.
Besides, the warden can be dead in many games, or have a completely different story than "walking into the mirror".

Witch hunt drastically changed my views as well... i had played aa fairly straight forward Warden, making all the "good" decisions. Then i got to WH.. Throughout all the other play-thrus i did, it was always Warden mage, Alister, Lillian with love interest, and Wynne, i hadnt really spent any real time with Morrigan, didn't hate her for performing the ritual and leaving saving our lives.. he had a life in Denerim, with Liliana and advising king Alister... he had no real reason to hunt her down, other then pure curiosity. But shortly after finishing it, i realized i wanted a bit more out of my own warden's story. After considering all possible outcomes and endings and what not, I started over fresh, this time making what i felt was better choices in the world. Instating King Behlen for instance, he may have been two-faced and a bit "evil" but really that was just how all dwarf nobles are when playing the political game. I also chose to do more with Morrigan in the romancing. which to me of all possible romances i enjoyed hers the most... you go thru a lot more with her then with the others... there's the kissey phase, then the "screw you we love each other" phase, followed shortly by the "you want to involve love?" phase, it goes all over the place. ultimately Morrigan became the woman my warden loved, and true to his word "I will find you." he goes after her, ending with morrigan finally being able to accept the love back, and the two of you go thru the mirror together to raise a demi-god son... (two mages, born from extremely powerful mage lines, with an old god essence? yeah that child will do just fine...)
When DA2 came out and i had done a couple of play thrus, (mostly as mage) by the end of it all when hawke left i kinda like to believe hawke and isabella jumped on the ship he got her, and perhaps ran into his cousin, offering their boat as a means to travel easier, together.
seeign that final scene with the seeker and liliana, it made me feel all the more better ove rthe decisions i made in that last Origins play thru.. everything just seemed to fit.. i dont think hawke and the warden were meant to fight eachother.. and tho i htink its a bit much to expect my warden as a companion character in DA3, it'd still be nice... perhaps they'll have to join forces to take down the most powerful demi-god child? haha

I watched the history channel last night and they had a "Deadliest Warrior" standoff between the Warden and Hawk. Hawke looked like he had a really good shot early on, but because he had no real motivation or interest in the battle, he just kinda stood around waiting for something to happen for a while... so the warden cut his head off.

shortly afterward, a darkly cloaked Developer (who can not be named for EULA reasons) arrived in a shuttle, picked up the pieces of Hawke, and had him reassembled with robotic parts and a black breathing helmet and suit.

**** I personally was a bag of nerves.. pathetic ik but i had tears of joy when i went through the eluvian for the first time. I always wanted to continue from that point as the Warden and Morrigan against the world. My warden would tear hawke apart. duel wielding the wardens companion and duncans dragon bone sword with 3 grandmaster silverite runes on each. I like to see them together one last time for whatever change the child will bring or a search for a cure to the taint. Hawke and Flemeth i could definatly see, as Flemeth was the only one aside from varric who seemed to like my hawke.  Good idead sir. I also liked that cleopatra and mark anthony reference.
