I support the bringing the meeting room back to ME1 style, with the crew sitting in the chairs all discussing the mission.

Also, not exactly relevant, but when Shepard says "Assemble the crew" actually assemble the crew, don't just get Miranda and Jacob (and Mordin on occasion)

This may have been said, but I didn't have time to read the entire post:

I would like to see improvements in the interractiveness of the ship:

- This could be done through crew member's actually walking around now and again

or

- DA2 style cut-scene's when you go to visit a crew member and find them playing cards with another crew member.

Basically anything that suggests that your crew is more real, and isn't always sitting in one place stuck in a dialogue loop.

- More onboard cut scene's or spontaneous dialogues:  I love when an RPG surprises you with a little dialogue or scene when you walk into a room or some such thing. It would be fun if after having a disagreement with a crew member, or following romantic options with a crew member, they were waiting in your cabin for you when you happen to go up there sometime.


The captain's cabin was a great idea.. but for those of us who don't care so much about collecting model ships, it was largely a useless room. I would like to see more use out of it, for interracting with people or what have you.

*High fives this suggestion* When they say assemble the crew, it sucks when they don't actually do it. It's a subtle thing that takes me out of the story/game by saying 'Hey, all those other characters you got were side characters who don't really affect the whole plot. Sorry!'

Yeah, agreed. Especially since (apart from Mordin) niether of them I used more than once. They should at least assemble the squad like ME1.

Wow, some of the ideas here are brilliant (Bioware should see this as their to-do list). You spend a lot of time on the Normandy and if they could impliment even half the features people have come up with here then they can have my money. and first born child << if they so wish/they may have to wait a bit for that. but yeah, +1 everything (no load screens in particular... >2 minute load times on ME2 were more than frustrating, and this was on the console!).... =)

1. The ability to enter/exit the airlock on a hub station/world. Adds to the atmosphere.
2. Working showers. The toilets flush so why not have a shower too.
3. Battlestations mode/alarm for CIC and shipwide gets my vote too.
4. Emergency bulkhead doors in case of explosive decompression from hull breaches.
5. Access to all the ship from the start, no locked doors or inaccessable areas. You are the commander/captain after all.

I believe the first normandy used mass effect fields to prevent decompression in case of emergencies. Probably safe to assume the 2nd and 2.5 normandies will also have this.

I didn't think the ME field was always active around the ship.  Doesn't the field envelop the ship just when it goes to FTL or uses a Mass Relay?  Anyway not to go off topic, I've got some more votes:

-- More visible security on board the ship.  Guards with guns for example  Edit: Eek no spoilers :)
-- Keep the fish tank but fit an auto-feeder....we have them in the 21st centuary so why not in the far future.
-- No more load screens, let the elevator move up or down like in ME1.

I don't want crew members to interact with each other, as it is so obviously fake in every game where it is attempted.

However what I would like is the option to mercilessly beat your crew members, some naval discipline in other words.

It will be a way to take your frustrations out on sub par squad mates (always the biotics in my experience), but will also be a time sink. If it had repercussions, ie discipline them too much they resent you, too little and they become feckless and slow, but just right and they perform well.

Plus I just want to beat Garrus, Jacob, Samara, Grunt and Miranda into bloody heaps.

* Multi-species crew
