 I used the code that came with my copy of Dragon Age 2 for the Black Emporium add-on but nothing installed. I'm just told that my code's been used. If this is simple and silly of me to be confused by please show me the way. 

P.S. I'm on a mac.

You need to download it first. In your registered content find the Black Emporium open it and you'd get a link.
