In Act 2, after you've had your first romantic encounter, you can talk to your mum, & she says something I hadn't noticed until today. I've always picked the diplomatic option there - but if you do the sarcastic one, you say, "It sounds like you have someone in mind."   Leandra basically then says she's not ready to tell you about him yet, but it's refreshing to be courted.

So - after doing the kid-Gamlen method, I gathered that the Necro-Mage lured her by pretending to be hurt, not that they'd ever met before.  But this dialogue implies they've had some contact (I assume before the lilies) - and that she was going to meet him.

Did I miss something in some other place?  *Does* she know him, and are they dating?

As best I can tell, we'll never know. It's standard for predators like Quentin to take their time, to try and build trust... At the same time, he's such a creepy, secretive bastard I'm not sure he could have done that. I guess he has to be at least somewhat persuasive, since he lures women into vulnerability.

So maybe he lured her out by playing suitor. Also possible Leandra went to the bingo parlor and just flirted up a storm.

Odds are she knew him. What the boy saw about blood could be his mothers or Q's. He could have been using blood to mind control her. Just that is a lot of blood for someone to be still alive. Though really it was a just a ploy to guide you to the end result.

I thought about that too.

And decided it couldn't be. Leandra wouldn't date a guy who stank of death and sewer. Not while she was in Hightown.

But we'll never know.

I imagine that Quintin had been slowly planting thoughts in her via blood magic (Avernus describes doing something similar to the nobles who supported Sophia Dryden) to make her find him attractive and interesting. then when he considered her ready he arranges to meet her and stabs himself first, partly for the blood to power his magic and partly to get her into a state of panic and to make her try to help him. the combination renders her completely vulnerable and he carts her off to his lair

Quentin wasn't bad looking per se.

Anyone know why there was an Amell family shield in one of his treasure chests at his shrine?

the Amell family crest is all over Kirkwall for unexplained reasons, so it's hardly surprising to find a shield somewhere either. but it's possible he may have been looking into her history so it would be easier to manipulate her and buying things like that shield as possible gifts should they be necessary

The kid who tells you what he saw does not know anything about the man, nor his relationship with leandra. It's perfectly reasonable to think that they knew eachother.
I mean think of it. Even if we don't count bloodmagic's mindcontrol, he's still her type.
Elegant dashing apostate, eh?

I still think Jehann was involved. Ninettes husband says that Jehann sent her lilies and it is left for the player to automatically surmise that Ninettes husband was mistaken but nothing is ever proven. With no proof whatsoever I am declaring that Jehann was working for Quentin or was an agent for Orsino being a go between for Orsino and Quentin. Conspiracy theory!

Theory. Blood magic can hide all sorts of personality/looks/charm flaws, in one way or another. With this illusion, he courts her. Gaining her trust, then appealing to her emotions by gifting something of sentimental value (Amell family shield), and adding a final touch of blood magic, could push her to the highest levels of obedience.

Maybe he hid his creepiness pretty well when he talked to Leandra before he abducted her. I would imagine telling the sob story about his dead wife would melt a lot of women.

The Amell shield is a subtle hint that Quentin is actually Malcolm Hawke who took that shield from the estate years ago.
His dead wife? That was Leandra. Who's the current Leandra? Flemeth in disguise of course! Yes she died but that never stops Flemeth.

That would explain why a creepy old lady is standing next to Sandals bed at night. It's really Leandra/Flemeth!

Oh my god... we cracked the secret code of the DA2 lore. All mysteries will be uncovered! We will know the plot of Dragon Age 3! We are just like Brother Gene... *gets murder knifed in the back of the head and dies*

I've only done the kid-version once - but he does talk about blood. I hadn't thought about that - I guess this could be part of the blood magic angle. (which seems to involve wildly casting blood around in hopes it will stick to something...)

Well, I think she could have done a lot better than Necro-Mage, but there's no accounting for taste!

It's also possible she was under the influence of blood magic, at least while in his presence... maybe?

I'm pretty sure Ninette's husband telling you about Jethann sending her flowers is just a lead to get you to talk to the "hard working" lad.

Gascard had the same white liles in his house. That suggests to me he sent them to lure her out, then Quentin plays the victim and off they go.

Yet Jehnann doesn't seem the type to send flowers.  A ruse is there somewhere.

Keep in mind the husband in Act 1 probably just assumed the flowers were from Jethann. I doubt it's his style.

I may be remembering it wrong but didn't her husband even say that it was from him or "one of her other suitors" because he was convinced (possibly with reason) that she was sleeping with half the city

and on an almost completely unrelated note I really wish there'd been a dialogue option to say "oh I'll find your wife. I'll make sure she's safe. and I'll make sure you never see her again"

He stalks his victims prior to killing them.
