I’m going through my second play-through, and I’ve noticed that unique items seem to be in the same area generally but not exactly the same. For example, in the Tower of Ishal, Harvard’s Yew was on a Genlock Alpha one play-through and the Ogre the next.

Are all uniques like this? What governs this behavior? How wide an area might an item be found in?

Hum. I haven't noticed this. Spellweaver was in the same spot both playthroughs, as was everything else I can think of - but I may be misremembering.

I've just started my second playthrough so the shield is the only unique item I've run into so far.



Can anyone else comment on this behavior?

Certain items will be within their "general" locations (haven't seen the shield you mention drop from the genlock, but have on the critter past that on a few playthroughs).
